Suggestions: 1 use gloves. 2 do not unwind pin 1½ turns but ½ turn only. 3 use small vise grip to twist string. 4 do not tap string down on bridge with hard steel tool; use a brass drift

What I said on camera does sound confusing. I was talking about how I could feel from the string that it would be very difficult to get a full turn or more from that string. When the bass strings get thick a half turn really is sufficient.
