- In this video, I flip through my art supply swatch book housed in an Archer and Olive B5 notebook. I also swatch new-to-me supplies: Conte Pastel Pencils and Conte Crayons from Jerry's Artarama.

Fabulous idea!
The names of the colors corresponding to the numbers on the crayons/pencils are available on the Conte a Paris website, if anyone is still interested!
I agree that colours with names are more fun, but I do love to see swatches of all types of media!
I love Jerry’s. We have one here and I love going during sales.
Your swatch book makes me swoon!! I need to create one for myself as I have plenty of different supplies that I would like cataloged ♥ And in case you didn't notice - you have two crayons numbered 12. I wonder if the white was misnumbered?
Thank you for pointing that out. I'll have to go check them and see what the correct numbers are. It is most likely me getting the number on one of them wrong:) Swatch books are nice and relaxing to do, but do take a bit of time if you are working through existing art supplies rather than swatching as things come in. It is worth it though!
Thank you for this video I was thinking about getting some of these myself. I'm currently working on a portrait I'm just not sure which medium is easy to work with while having that rich color
They would be beautiful for a portrait. Only one downside I see and that is the dust. Just make sure you are in a ventilated area so you don't inhale the dust from the pastels.
@@MysteryArts Will do thank you for the advice.
Do you think the conte are different than hard pastels?
I definite,y think conte crayons are their own thing. They behave more like pencils than hard pastels-more waxy than crumbly.
@@MysteryArts thank you
