    Use ethernet connection
    Turn off wifi in settings
    Plug into power
    Change power management to high or ultimate performance
    Audio Settings > audio booster > frame size - change to 1-2.5 ms
    Audio Settings > audio booster > lower max outgoing bitrate
    Configure your interface to use ASIO driver. Do this when you first configure JK, or delete interface from audio gear and start over.
    Use as low an Audio Buffer in your interface driver as possible.
    Resync

    Great video! Have you considered doing one that covers Mac-specific latency issues with JamKazam? (Everyone: "Like" this comment if it's important to you as well, and Reggaddiction can weigh doing one.)

    I really appreciate the effort that went into making this, but I want to point out that the latency at the beginning of the process was only 6.0 (which I don't think is bad). But by the end of the process the latency went up to 8.1 ms (still green, but not really an improvement). I made the same choices as those displayed but my initial latency was 20 ms and it improved to 8.7 ms.

    • @Reggaddiction
      @Reggaddiction  Před 4 lety +9

      You can't only look at the Latency numbers. The Frame Size, Gear Driver and Jitter also contribute to having a great experience on Jamkazam. If the Latency is green and everything else is yellow or red you will find the sync experience while playing with other people isn't that great. So yes my Latency went from 6.0 to 8.1ms but I managed to improve the Gear Driver and Frame Size and Jitter.

    • @Mudge07
      @Mudge07 Před 2 lety

      A qualitative improvement can be made by backing off some of the quantitatively-achievable parameter settings. For example I can set the Frame Size to 1ms but the tone spectrum on my E-drums and system stability I get from leaving it at 2.0ms, is worth it.

    HI there and thanks for all this great info. I see you are playing electronic drums through Jamkazam as am I. I did all the steps you mentioned but my set up is not using a audio interface. I just went from drum module to computer with usb cable. I adjusted frame rate to 2.5 and 5 but there is quite a bit of degradation especially with the low end sounds. Would you suggest I need an audio interface? I do see my drums on the list of audio inputs but the frame rate seems to be the only thing that I cannot get out of the red without major sound degradation as you mentioned. Any comments to this would be greatly appreciated!

Then once you do that try JamKazan again and getting the ASIO working there. If you need a DAW (recording software), i recommend this free one Reaper. www.reaper.fm/

We need to get them both on to jamkazam at the same time for band practice but have only one router (and therefore obviously one direct ethernet cable connecting to it). How can this be accomplished and they still have separate accts? Or do I just have to get a USB audio interface w multiple inputs and they have to only use one account? Seems like then only one will have headphones...?? Any equipment recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

    • @Reggaddiction
      @Reggaddiction  Před 3 lety

      @@garyschmidt5284 yep you got it. One Jamakazam account and connect a speaker to the phone out or monitor out jack of the interface. If you want them to also have vocals that might be a problem if they dont have headphone because the speakers may create a feedback loop. Also if you want vocals you will now need more than two inputs.I believe JamKazam maxs out at two input so you'll have to use a mixer first to create a sub mix of the two instruments than send both instruments using one submix out to the interface and do the same with the two vocals.
