Wei Wuxian married Lan Wangji in the novel which this drama is based on, but he didn't officially become a Lan there, he still kept his name Wei Wuxian. Also, given Wei Ying's character, I think it would be too much to ask of him to always wear the white "mourning" clothes as he calls them, to suddenly behave like a Lan and to follow all their 300 + rules. That simply wouldn't be him anymore. I think coming to live with Lan Zhan in Cloud Recesses and following the most important rules to not cause trouble for him is enough compromise from Wei Ying, and he doesn't have to become a Lan in a direct sense, to wear white at all times etc. Actually, I would even go as far as to say that those who want Wei Ying to become a real Lan don't really understand and love his character in this drama or in the novel.

Maybe the part I added to my comment sounds too harsh, but I just recently finished watching The Untamed, it has become one of my favorite Chinese/Asian dramas and I especially love Wei Wuxian's unique character, so I feel quite strongly about this, even though I am not really worried.
