I think its goes with any specialty!! I know O n G doctors who wouldn't know how to treat ketoacidosis/start heparin infusion, Surgery wouldn't know medicine stuff and same with ED not knowing treating chronic conditions. So many inaccuracies in this video. Particularly the GP income. The figures and inferences are incorrect. I guess that this is because the writer does not work within Australian general practice.

    • @pranavparmar8571

      Then what's the actual figures?

    • @iankamerman6390
      @iankamerman6390 Před 5 měsíci

      1. Simple care. General practice provides complex care. It’s one of the hardest specialties.
      2. The writer doesn’t quite explain Medicare and rebates correctly but I’ll let it go.
      3. Very few practices would offer a fee of 25-30% as a service fee. They’d not be viable in the long term or would force doctors to provide rapid throughput. Average is more like 30-40%.
      4. Tax advice is totally incorrect. Google Personal Services Income.
      5. Income is not related to the number of patents seen but rather the type of service provided.
      6. There are very few Medicare item rates that are different for rural areas.
      7. The income he quotes is confused. Before tax you’d expect to earn $400000 to $700000.
      I only listened to the income chapter but with so many inaccuracies I’d expect the rest to be the same.
      Main problem he doesn’t mention is this is for an experienced Australian GP. It would take 2 or more years to get to this billing level provided you are in a supportive practice.
      If a practice churns patients through rapidly then assume you will get no support.
