    I did take a XP2 to a music festival, was good to try out. Maybe for the best in outdoor conditions and not the amount I tend to push things. The processing place did run it through with the colour processing machine.

      Yes, it is C-41 film, same as color. No problems. Was the results good?

      Okay, now that i actually finished the video, i think i have to get my hands on both of those. they are not AS easy to get over here, but still easy enough. the streaks on the xp2 really are a little weird, but the shots still turned out amazing. Did you have to remove the film before handing it in for development (like with the lomo simple-use) or did you hand in the whole thing as with every other disposable? Cheers.

    Hi guys, great review... and brilliant pictures!!!
    After this i've bought two single use HP5, but I've a great doubt: do you know if X-ray scanners used to check hand luggage can damage the film? In the new cameras the film isn't stored into his metallic case...
    I also wrote to Harman Technical Service and I'm waiting for a reply 🤔
    Tks!
    Bye!

  • @DmitryKoupriyanov
    @DmitryKoupriyanov Před 7 lety +1

    Hold on you process b/w in C41? Thought only few films out there that you can do that with?
    I only used some crap Kodak and got crazy blue/purple cast.

    • @AwesomeCameras
      @AwesomeCameras  Před 7 lety

      +Dmitry Koupriyanov yes, XP2 is meant to be developep in C41. I've used some of the old Kodak C41 black and white film too, I love it!

    • @DmitryKoupriyanov
      @DmitryKoupriyanov Před 7 lety

      ohh never shot XP2 but I thought HP5 is only b/w chemistry
      I've had horrible results with the Kodak b/w c41 stuff.

    I just bought single used Ilford XP2 400. Did you take pictures of the beach during the day with a flash, or do you use the flash only when the sun came up or to take pictures of dark alleys for example? ;)

  • @isack707
    @isack707 Před 7 lety +1

    Hey guys! I was wondering if you could give me any tips for shooting with this camera. I bought two to take to lake Havasu and I'm wondering how much lack of light is needed till you start needing to use the flash? Like do you need it in open shade during high noon? Or do you just need it for indoor shoots and night shots?

    • @AwesomeCameras
      @AwesomeCameras  Před 7 lety

      +isack707 depends on your preference really, but personally I would use the flash in the shade sometimes if you're trying to get a little extra light on your subject, then anything during and after sunset it would help to use flash

  • @paulkane2391
    @paulkane2391 Před 7 lety +2

    I've shot XP2 before, but not in a disposable camera. I miss the true b/w stuff like Tri-X and Plus-X. Sadly, no one aside from "hobbyists" supposedly still processes true b/w film (as in - you either do it yourself or it doesn't get done).
    I think despite the love of the medium, film is dying - maybe slower then anticipated, but as long as processing shops (the ones near me anyway) use old, weak chemicals, there is really no point.
    Love the videos, though. Keep up the good work!

    • @AwesomeCameras
      @AwesomeCameras  Před 7 lety +1

      +Paul Kane there's some really good labs out there doing great work... Might be time to have a chat with the lab, or starting sending your film to a lab that cares...

    • @paulkane2391
      @paulkane2391 Před 7 lety

      Any leads for GOOD processors and printers would be greatly appreciated. In the greater Phoenix area, we have a Motophoto (he can do C-41, but results are mixed) and a lab over in Tempe (from what I understand) and none do B/W processing.
      Very frustrating.
      Thanks.

    I hate black and white photography. Even the stuff that is in black and white cause that's the only technology they had back then I hate. All my Laurel and Hardy films are colorized versions. I can't watch the black and white versions of those now as they look horrible. I do watch black and white movies but only if a colorized version has not been made and only if I am really desperate to watch it. Which in the last 5 years has been about 2 film's.

    • @AwesomeCameras
      @AwesomeCameras  Před 7 lety +2
