@donalfonsotube Holy cow! Did some snobbish Italian just call JENNIFER LARMORE mediocre? Were I you I'd listen to some more of her recordings before calling her mediocre. She is fabulous!
Brava, Jennie! Isn't she a great interpreter of Handel - and of Rossini, Donizetti, etc. But I digress. I'm in love with her, but I haven't gotten a chance yet to see her in person, and perhaps meet her. An opportunity to see her in "La Centerentola" is coming up when she does that opera in Atlanta next month. She is the diva for me in the 2000's, just as Dawn Upshaw and Carol Vaness were in the '90's and Frederica von Stade in the '80's. And I still love them, they'll be happy to know.:-)
I always trust Jacob's judgement. He always gets the most fitting cast at the moment. Never disappoints. That version is probably the best Cesare on recording.
this was great but cecilia bartoli can spit this out in her sleep although she does have a great dark and rich voice wich i love she is very good but still i prefer cecilia as the queen mezzo sry buts thats just my opinion i am not puting any singer down
The piece is supposed to be in A-flat. Larmore should stop singing and retrain for at least a year. The voice has no compression, no resonance, no high partials and very limited volume. It's just a very good, natural mezzo instrument but she hasn't a clue what to due with it. So MUCH unrealized potential in this beautiful, beautiful lady.
What a beautiful mezzo!
my favourite version. she is superb!
Larmore has the beautiful, real and natural mezzo voice
I love this woman!
Great voice and great technique ;) she's amazing!
She OWNS this aria. :D
Larmore is such a good singer. She has such a characteristic timbre. I just wish this one was a bit faster although it still sounds gorgeous.
Stupenda! AV
superbe , comme toujours avec Jennifer Larmore.

Her ornamentations are crazy!!!!
great! lovely ;)
Stephanie Blythe also did a great job of this, on her Handel/Bach recital
there does seem to be an over-darkening of the voice. But, she has great agility and control.

mediocre, timbro falso e senza colore
