1. would use Han, Leia, Luke, and Mon Mothma for heavy early game recruiting on high affinity worlds 2. espionage on your own planet does make sense in later game as counter-espionage that exposes Empire missions on your planet
Yep. Also as soon as Luke becomes a jedi and everyone recruited it's a good idea to meet all officers and Luke at one place for couple of days, so he can find officers with jedi potential and start training them. Same for Vader, exept LV is already a jedi, so he can check out officers immediately after recruiting finishes.
I lost hope in other people that played this game, you did a great job. Honestly, I hope you make another series as the empire. Please do though, enjoy watching your videos!

I really wish they would rework the ai in this or at least rework the mechanic of getting so much support on other planets when you liberate one. It make the game sooooo easy when fighting the computer. Just let the ai take over a few of your planets in a sector, then go liberate through bombing and destroying the enemy garrison as soon as the enemy fleet leaves an bang... do this twice in a single sector and then the entire sector supports you. Shield generators also seem a bit weak to me. They are too easy to bomb through if you have alot of fighter like y wings or tie bombers. Hell in The Empire strikes back Hoth only had 1, maybe 2 shield generators and they were able to block the ssd executor and all of death squadron, 5 Imperial SD with at least most of them being ISD IIs. In the game that would easily blast through a gen core II, maybe even two gen core IIs depending on the fighters it carried and if in has an admiral. I love this game, just wish that it wouldn't be so easy to win by taking advantage of the ai's stupidity. Are there any mods that buff shield gens and nerf how easy it is to generate planet support through liberation? Also would help if the ai could be modded to get a resource boost in order to help it build. Right now you can get pretty far ahead in ship building, pretty quickly.
+8eewee Yes, it was. But much better. Empire at War tried to emphasize the story and playthrough. It thought it could skimp on gameplay by making things 3d. The only thing it did better was the fleet battles.
ChernobylPizza Lancer frigates aren't unlocked until midway through the game, but they are very effective. Once those come out, the Rebellion's fighters become less effective unless they have capital ships supporting them. In the early game, at least, the Rebellion has the advantage over the Empire in that they can build good, shielded fighters quickly and cheaply. Get enough of them together, and you can push back a small Imperial fleet, which might make all the difference.
Lancers are researched very quickly (tech level 2). I guess the fighters are good to mass on a couple critical planets to scare off a VSD but once the lancers show up you will only have 1-3 nebulons and the lancers can just move from system to system killing your fighters and ignore your frigate to kill fighters if necessary.
ChernobylPizza It's true, the lancers are very effective when built in mass. When I get to an Imperial playthrough, I'm sure I'll be doing exactly that. Fortunately, the AI isn't always smart in this game. A few fighters are enough to scare off most of their early ships (minus Star Destroyers) and buy enough time to build planetary defenses. At that point, the Rebellion can just retreat every time there's an unfavorable engagement... a luxury the early Imperial fighters do not have.
That's the AI being smart, not dumb...I've won engagements against Imperial Star Destroyers with only a wing of Starfighters because most Imperial capital ships have no laser cannon to target Starfighters ...the game does have a failsafe inbuilt for this - when all enemy capital ships are defeated turbolasers automagically are able to target enemy Starfighters but do so very ineffectively
Just release as is, don't try to upgrade the graphics, it's the gameplay that matters, (people and gamers don't seem to realize this.) other wise just play Empire at war.
May I also ask how can I find Vader sooner because I got lucky after I got Palpy ( Vader captured Leia and Luke and the planet where he was on had 1 garrison + why this combo is op orrimaarko and ma'w'shiye they never got captured and always sabotaged garrisons no exceptions).
Pravus Gaming Hello . Do you know if this game will go on Windows 7 Ultimate? I have windows like this and I really like this game because I like classic older parts. Only the villain 1 accepts disney's sw.
Love this game. Still have an original copy on cd. One question though pravus. I understand that you need worlds with multiple shipyards etc for quick building but a few times in that video you had two shipyards or construction yards on a world and didn't build a barracks. One world for example you two construction yards and two shipyards but no barracks. Why did you build another construction yard? If that was me I would make sure that I have at least one of everything for that world and then anything left over can go towards another shipyard or construction yard. That way everything has its own system defence and you don't have to really on other worlds. It's also quicker to build up on a grander scale. As you know it gets to a certain point in the game when the opposing side starts throwing everything it has at you. Great video though. Can't wait to watch the others.
Rob 'Tigerman' Hewes the reason you don't just build 1 of everything on a planet is because of build times. Each shipyard for example cuts the time to construct a ship in half. So concentrate on say shipyards on one world and build 5-6, you can pump out large capital ships very very fast and overwhelm your opponent late in the game. Imo the best strategy is to have specific purposes for planets; some are all shipyards, some are all barracks and some are all construction yards.
Thanks Brett. That's what I'm doing now. Although I'm still building one shipyard one barracks and as many construction yards as I can then doing it with lots of shipyards and barracks on other planets

Right now you can get pretty far ahead in ship building, pretty quickly.
love this game
dat was fun times :) 2 armadas of 200 ships :D
This game is the precursor to SW: Empire At War
KVION So Empire At War is similar, with moving characters with stats around?
This looks really interesting. Could this be considered a sort of predecessor of Empire At War?
+8eewee Yes, it was. But much better. Empire at War tried to emphasize the story and playthrough. It thought it could skimp on gameplay by making things 3d. The only thing it did better was the fleet battles.
You seem to build many fighters early but my opponents always spam lancers
That's the AI being smart, not dumb...I've won engagements against Imperial Star Destroyers with only a wing of Starfighters because most Imperial capital ships have no laser cannon to target Starfighters ...the game does have a failsafe inbuilt for this - when all enemy capital ships are defeated turbolasers automagically are able to target enemy Starfighters but do so very ineffectively
it had speed hot keys - +
Just release as is, don't try to upgrade the graphics, it's the gameplay that matters, (people and gamers don't seem to realize this.) other wise just play Empire at war.
noice. bout to create the sequel tutorial.
Naming a ship Benedict, lets just hope that it does not go traitor lol.
GALACTIC POLITIC BATTLES!! a.k.a star wars rebellion
Damn I want to play it again
Crusader King with Star Wars.
Love this game!
This game is cool but I like empire at war better
Awesome love it :)
Thank you now i know roughly what to do in the game.
there is a board game with the same name
It's taken me since Windows 98 to find out how to sabotage targets ffs
Ao Star Wars Rebellion was the Origina Empire at War
Pravus Gaming
Hello .
I mis playing this game , but I don't mis it crashing all the damn time but I played lots of hours anyway and I always tried to remember to save the game , I always had Han solo just exploring cause if he stayed anywhere he would get caught
Also when I got really good at this game I'd sabotage all the planets eventually by lowering gas production either by destroying any I knew an unbeatable fleet coming my way or by sabotaging gas production on a imperial owned planet.
