I like that they show the puppeteers. I think it works if you think of it symbolically. These characters are physically objects, but they still have their humanity inside of them.
I think this is the version they are reworking for the broadway revival. Just needs a some touch ups on the choreo. The original broadway production was HEAVY with the dancing and big in costumes. It would be good to see them back all polished with the new LED screens. Its definitely more cost efficient but dang is it EFFECTIVE when used right.
Um, flash news: The 2021 UK Tour with Courtney Stapleton had updates on the 1994 Broadway Production and wasn't based on the 2017 live-action film. I have a feeling that the UK Tour is the version that they are reworking for the Broadway revival... maybe. Well... my prediction is that this Disney Cruise Line production might have an inspiration for an Off-Broadway production.

Another inspired choice was watching the pieces of the Beast fall away during the transformation, and finally a medley of “How Does A Moment Last Forever” and “Beauty and the Beast” to create a beautiful finale. Overall a worthy adaptation mix of the animated classic and the recent live action blockbuster. 👍👍

Nymphia Mermaid they probably did so to condense the show, plus their fears that the kids would get antsy during the slow ballad. If they revive the musical for broadway though, they definitely should add it in lieu of the reprise of If I Can't Love Her.
Honestly it’s more odd than anything...because it’s the films’ flagship tune. It’s like doing Aladdin without “New World”. Granted this B and B is the remake on stage with the couple new ones, but Evermore is so obviously meant to be the remakes’ flagship song 😕

Where are the objects/Lumiere,Cogsworth,Mrs Potts,Chip, and Plumette during bows? They should have the people controlling the puppets bow with the puppets
First of all, for this production, Chip was actually a boy from the audience who volunteered every night this was performed. You can see that right after he waves back at everybody for his bow, he goes back into the crowd and thus does not participate in the full company bow. Also, the actors performing the objects have solo bows from 1:00:09 right before Chip's wave. Due to their costumes (and the rapid-fire curtain call), it's impractical for them to transform back into puppet form.

This isn't for SURE, but I noticed that there were red and blue lights flickering during Belle's entrance into the castle, and also the whole Beast vs Gaston fight felt like it was a "plan B" situation.Almost as if there was supposed to be a whole different set piece that they use (There was a chase that ensued that lead off of the stairs, and then back onto them that seemed improvised). Also, several mixed sounds started playing when Gaston ran away from the Beast, so there's that. As for "Be our Guest", I'm not sure. I couldn't tell if something went wrong on stage, so it might have been a back stage problem.
Don't go to a show where there's likely to be kids. I've been at an AmDram version of Oliver Twist, which isn't so family friendly, and there was a kid sat behind us.
