How To Wire LED Lights In Your Diorama [TUTORIAL]

- In this video we look at the basics of wiring LED lights in your dioramas, including what tools you will need, power sources, bulbs, and a basic wiring series.
EDIT: I mistakenly called the wiring example a 'series' circuit, whereas in fact it is a 'parallel' circuit. Thank you, Mason, for helping me out on that one! I am no electrician lol

At last, a straightforward explanation which didn’t make me feel like an idiot. Thank you! 😁
Lol my pleasure! Glad you got something out of it
6:57 when the LEDs are new the long one is always +
Thank you so much man, this was very helpful! Love it!
I'm happy it helped! Thanks for watching!
Very helpful. Thank you.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching
Really good vid. Solid info delivered in layman's terms.
Thanks Bob! I appreciate that
Thank you so much! Perfect instruction!
Absolutely! Thank you so much for watching!
Good info. Thank you for the video,🙏... but that music was driving me nuts. 😬
Amazing work as usual. I learnt a lot. Thank youuu
Thank you Mike! Glad it helped
You keep saying those LEDs are wired in ‘series’, but I think you mean ‘parallel’. In a series, voltage is shared, so each of the two LEDs would only get half of the three volts from that battery pack.
Yes- I corrected myself in the notes/comments but didn't want to go back and re-edit the video. But yes, it's a parallel circuit. Good catch!
Informative!
Thanks!
Thanks, this helped a lot.
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching
Nice job,, thanks
Thank you!
great video! you can also use a hair dryer instead of the hot air gun!
This is true. I've noticed the hot air gun is a bit more directional when handling small parts, but that can be overcome using tweezers or pliers if using a hair dryer. Thanks for watching!
This is my first time here and have some basic help adding mini lights to my lamp. How can I reach you ?
My email address is in the about section on my page. Feel free to reach out to me and I will be happy to help. (Hit "view email address" if you don't see it)
Can a 5V led strip goes for a 3V battery holder ???? What will happen if a 5V led strip connect to a 12v battery holder ?
How to connect the switch ? I’m overwhelmed … now we’ve got a switch to take care of 😅
What if we use an LED strip light, how would that go?
I review wiring strip lights in this video. You'll need to match voltage required by your strip lights with your power source and solder to the appropriate positive/negative poles. Most other types of strip lights you can get online come pre-wired with a battery pack or power supply. If I am misunderstanding the question, let me know.
hi noob here... what if you want usb cable as power source thank you in advance
It gets a lot more complicated once you start using voltage that does not match the bulb requirements. You'll have to add resistors to the circuit so you don't blow the bulbs by overpowering them. Not an impossible task by any means, but you have to do the math (and research) to make sure you have the correct resistance in the electric flow. Personally, I have yet to try it. A simpler solution would be to get pre-wired USB LEDs which come with everything working and if you need to extend the wiring just solder in extensions. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching
the music in the background is so distracting from your great instructions
My goodness
That made way too much sense.. I am building a car town for my son and have always been intimidated by electricity…
After that I am not at all..
Especially with the battery packs. Outstanding simple video!
I'm glad it helped! Best of luck, and I hope the car project goes well
