Yes agree. At the end of the day we are all different, our genes are different. There is some individuals that don't even do much to their hair and still see amazing growth
@Fires And Flowers I barely do any of that stuff and my hair grows pretty quickly. But, I know many people that have been natural years before I transitioned. They do what you're saying and have been doing it for years with no significant growth and they wonder why my hair keeps growing and theirs aren't. That's why I think genetics plays a role in the hair growth process.

11 years! After I went back to school plus 4 kids I got it flat ironed so I could just put it in a pony tail and I got heat damage 🤦🏽♀️Oh well it’s just hair
Gorgeous but wigs are addictive as all get out. I wore them for better part of a year, to the point where I didn’t like the look of my own hair. Over last few months I have been wearing my own hair in twist updos and such. I love it again it’s so soft and easy. No it’s not waist length but that’s okay, I have been natural 3 years and my is shoulder length in its natural state. I have never straightened
I agree..once you wear wigs so much you become dissatisfied with your own hair.

Part of hair growth is definitely genetic. One side of my family has women with mostly short, thin hair, despite them taking great care of their hair. On the other side of my family, all the females have always had long, thick, 4a/4b hair like me, whether we take extra special care or not. The rate at which hair grows as well as strand thickness, texture, and tensile strength are all contributing genetic factors to how long one's hair will grow. However, we can greatly aid hair retention with moisturizers, oils, protective styling, and careful handling of our crowns of glory.

Wow, this seems super easy and definitely up my alley. Questions: I notice you used a conditioner to initially wash the unit. Would you (ever) use a shampoo to wash the wig later if it needed to be cleansed and revitalized? Please provide details on the products you would use if they differ. Also, regarding the leave out with the Got 2 be Glued, does it make the hair slightly hard or stiff, but still stylable? It seemed like it had great hold, but was easily blended. Just want to confirm. Thanks!

Beautiful as usual Sis! I love HerGivenHair. I’ve worn my upart several times but I found it to be annoying because it was SO BIG! Either I have a little head or they can’t get the measurements right. I ordered a custom unit and it was still too big. Because of that I just got a sew in with their wefts

MICHELLE BROWN I’m glad you like it! I did have some flakes this time. I should’ve went heavier on the glaze and lighter with the got 2 be glue. I used to do this all the time and no flakes. It’s also important to do it on clean hair that doesn’t have any other products in it when using it on your natural hair ☺️
