Surfed Bali 2 times. Each time I was reminded of the level of fitness it required to be present there and not panic and all that. Waves were way faster than I was used to surfing in Cali and Mexico. Reef is right below you in the clear water. Scary and exciting - all at the same time. Waves were not as high, head and a half to double over and it was busy at the line up. Thanks for bringing these great memories... Surf's up!!!

There is no better example than Nate's 900 foot pigdog airdrop wipeout at Puerto a couple weeks ago. On the fisheye cam it looks like DOH and then you see the beach shot and the frame where he is 100% free falling with perfect pigdog body position for a 1% chance of success... Never seen a better image to define the word commitment.

It was astounding to hear someone who grew up on the north shore say, "I've never ridden a single fin in my entire life" . The more different cratfs you ride, the more you learn about every aspect of surfing. Seems like a prerequisite for being a pro, or even a good surfer. So odd to hear that. Honestly if the same were true for me, I would be too ashamed to admit it out loud on an international platform.
