  • The Kisuki Line (木次線, Kisuki-sen) is a railway line in Japan operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). The 81.9 km (50.9 mi) line connects Shinji in Matsue, Shimane with Bingo Ochiai in Shōbara, Hiroshima.
    The Kisuki Line is one of Japan's least frequented local lines and the line is constantly under consideration for closure.

    I think it has to be one of japans most scenic railway journeys and if they should try to close it down the good people of japan should band together to save it jr west should promote it as a tourist line people would come from all around the world to ride on it the same thing happened in our state of nsw (australia) they closed down most of the state country lines and if you want to go to country nsw you have to catch a bus the state goverment of the day wrecked the whole system cheers bob. ps "DONT LET IT HAPPEN OVER THERE".

    • @khamronsingame
      @khamronsingame Před rokem

      While it's not impossible, it would be difficult since this line does not lead anywhere. In addition, the Hakubi line which serves a similar route is very close by. There have been some success stories of railway companies in Japan bringing on tourist trains to increase profits but in those cases, it's a line that leads to a particular somewhat populous city which has no other railways nearby. JR just closed the Sanko Line which was quite near to the Kisuki Line a few years ago, but at least this line has a few more regular passengers than that line.

    • @khamronsingame
      @khamronsingame Před rokem

      I doubt the speed restrictions are due to poor maintenance. The Kisuki line was built in 1932 and is a very mountainous line. Lots of curves would require the speed limits we see to operate safely. I doubt JR would put money into this line beyond keeping it in somewhat usable form since it earns very little money.

      This is called a switchback. It's like a road serpentine and has the same purpose. But because it's impossible for trains to make sharp u-turns the only solution is to change the direction. Switchbacks aren't uncommon for mountain railways despite traffic slowing off course. You can find a lot of them, for example, here: czcams.com/video/_4Yyti9K9cg/video.html (watch all parts!).

    • @Antipika
      @Antipika Před rokem

      Switchback occurs on the Akita Shinkansen at Omagari Station, also on the Ltd Express Hida at Gifu Station. So it's not even only on mountains, does happen in cities too and on faster trains! On trains where seats direction can be changed (like the Akita Shinkansen or Hida) you may board the train with seats facing backward and the announcer will warn you that the facing direction will change later on. (i.e. if you board between Akita>Omagari or Nagoya>Gifu).

    • @dannyleung2796
      @dannyleung2796 Před rokem

    日本鉄道建設公団(にほんてつどうけんせつこうだん、英称 : Japan Railway Construction Public Corporation、英略称:JRCC)は、かつて日本国有鉄道(国鉄)などの鉄道建設事業を行っていた国土交通省所管の特殊法人である[3]。日本鉄道建設公団法に基づき1964年(昭和39年)3月23日に発足し、特殊法人改革により2003年(平成15年)10月1日に解散した[1]。その業務は独立行政法人鉄道建設・運輸施設整備支援機構に承継された[1][2]。
    国鉄に代わって新線建設を行い、完成した鉄道施設を国鉄に貸し付けまたは譲渡することを目的に1964年(昭和39年)3月23日に国と国鉄の出資で発足した。建設事業は運輸省の鉄道建設審議会の諮問に基づいて運輸大臣が指示する基本計画に従って行うこととされ、工事線62線、調査線3線の計65線が示された。1970年(昭和45年)には新幹線、1972年(昭和47年)には東京都、大阪市、名古屋市とその周辺の民営鉄道(民鉄)線建設事業も追加された。
    工事線は地方開発線(A線)、地方幹線(B線)、主要幹線(C線)、大都市交通線(D線)、海峡連絡線(青函トンネル、E線)、新幹線(G線)、民鉄線(P線)及び都市鉄道線の8つに区分され、完成した路線は公団が国鉄や民営鉄道事業者に貸し付けた。
    ただし、建設路線の大半を占めた地方開発線及び地方幹線(AB線)は計画段階から黒字が見込めないローカル線で、完成後は国鉄に無償貸し付けまたは譲渡されたが、日本国有鉄道の経営を圧迫する基となった。なお、公団発足後も山陽新幹線や東北新幹線盛岡以南、中央本線塩嶺トンネル、埼京線、貨物線(未成線では南方貨物線)これらの路線建設そして千歳線等一部路線の線路付け替えなどは国鉄自らが行っている[5][6]。
    1979年(昭和54年)、不正経理問題が発覚し、川島広守総裁が引責辞任、後任には仁杉巌西武鉄道副社長(鉄建公団総裁退任後、第9代国鉄総裁)が就任した[7]。
    1980年(昭和55年)、国鉄再建法施行にともなって運輸省は、同法の特定地方交通線基準に準じ、開業後見込まれる輸送密度が1日当たり4,000人未満の路線については、受け皿となる第三セクターなど国鉄以外の運営主体がない限り建設を凍結することを決めた。このため鹿島線のうち鹿島新線として計画された区間(現在の鹿島臨海鉄道大洗鹿島線)および内山線(現在のJR四国予讃線向井原 - 内子間および新谷 - 伊予大洲間)以外の工事中AB線38線区はすべて工事が凍結された。
    凍結されたAB線のうち、工事着工率が50%以上で、のち開業を果たした線区一覧 [8]
    樽見線、鷹角線、阿佐東線、久慈線、盛線、智頭線、野岩線、宿毛線、阿佐西線(後免 - 奈半利)、井原線、北越北線、宮福線
    凍結されたAB線のうち、工事着工率が50%以上で工事再開されなかった線区一覧
    美幸線、白糠線、名羽線、興浜線、佐久間線、阪本線、今福線、岩日北線、油須原線、呼子線、高千穂線(高千穂 - 高森)
    他に凍結されたA線である岩内線(岩内 - 黒松内)、紅葉山線(占冠 - 金山。紅葉山 - 占冠は石勝線として開業)、狩勝線(日高町 - 占冠。占冠 - 上落合は石勝線、上落合 - 新得は根室本線として開業)、芦別線、北十勝線、根北線(越川 - 根室標津。斜里 - 越川は既に廃止)、小本線(岩泉 - 小本)、下呂線、岡多線(瀬戸 - 多治見)、氷見線(氷見 - 羽咋)、越美線(九頭竜湖 - 北濃)、小鶴線、南勝線、阿佐線(甲浦 - 奈半利)、北松線、小国線(宮原線参照)、B線中津川線、C線丸森線や、1984年凍結のCD線である岡多線、瀬戸線、当時凍結済みの整備新幹線、成田新幹線については当該項目を参照。これらの中にも開業または活用された線区がある。
    1988年(昭和63年)には、前年の国鉄分割民営化により、東北新幹線(盛岡以北)と九州新幹線の建設主体及び関係職員が、一時JR東日本・JR九州を経て、公団に引き継がれた。
    1998年(平成10年)10月22日に日本国有鉄道清算事業団法の廃止により日本国有鉄道清算事業団が同日をもって解散となったことから、それ以降同事業団の業務は固定資産やJR株式などの処分資産だけを当公団が承継し、当公団内に国鉄清算事業本部(特例勘定)を設置した。なお、従来からの建設公団業務は、一般勘定となった。償還スキームが破綻した清算事業団の国鉄長期債務は、公団には引き継がれず、政府の一般会計に組み込まれ、60年間の国民負担で処理されている。
    2001年(平成13年)3月現在の職員数は約1800人であった。国の特殊法人改革の一環で2003年(平成15年)10月1日付で解散し[1]、同日運輸施設整備事業団と統合されて設立された独立行政法人鉄道建設・運輸施設整備支援機構に業務が承継された  (Wikipediaより引用)

    初めての旅行なら、緑溢れた、山と線路の音懐かしく、おもいますが、
    毎日運転している、運転士さんわ、
    各機器の確認しながら、毎日同じ緑と、
    線路、山から降りる、動物の確認、
    わたしなら、胃が、口から、トビや出します、神経つかいますね、
    安全運転おつかれさまです、
