Spider-Man: The Animated Series introduced me to the Hobgoblin. I liked him ever since along with Doctor Octopus.
Yes! Hobgoblin, Doc Ock, Venom, Sandman, and The-Lizard-in-a-Labcoat were always my favorite villains from the cartoon. I'm glad we've gotten cool versions of Ock, Sandman, and the Lizard, but I'm still waiting for the Hobgoblin and a good Venom. I'm STILL pissed about Amazing Spider-Man 2 lying about the Rhino, too; that version of hinm was such a cool idea, and they featured him in every commercial and poster just to give us nothing.

While Green Goblin/Norman Osborn had more of a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on with their secret identity, Hobgoblin is like a Russian doll where the guy behind the mask is a guy who's being controlled by a guy who's being controlled by a guy who's being controlled by another guy.

Hobgoblin, the actual one, is honestly a really good villain. Because he actually succeeded at being a villain, guy didn't get caught and stayed rich.

Hobgoblin might be a good new Spider-Man villain in the MCU. He could be a part of the Sinister Six as well as a entirely new character. Lets just hope Sony and Marvel continue to play nice.

I still got the tattoo in my copy. As a teen in the 80s I worked in a comic book shop with a buddy. We got paid in comic books and the first appearance of the Hobgoblin was one of the comics I spent my credit on. The mystery about who was the Hobgoblin was something we all talked about at the time.
This reminds me of how awesome Hobgoblin was in the 90s Spider-Man cartoon, I remember as a kid thinking it was just Green Goblin with a new costume at first.

I followed Spider-Man TAS first and so was introduced to Hobgoblin 1st before Green Goblin.

Hobgoblin saga was what got me into Spider-Man. The mere fact that you didn’t know who he was and he appeared as a shadowy deadly character fascinated me as a child. He still remains one of my favorite comic book villains.

I'm going to level with everybody when I was younger I thought hobgoblin was Harry Osborn, because Norman was the Green Goblin, and at the time I didn't realize that people just be switching costumes all the time.
I'm pretty sure Harry was the Hobgoblin at some point.
He was also Hobgoblin in the ultimate universe

Damn, I really need to get those first issues. I'm surprised how restrained and careful Hobgoblin was at the start, I can see why he was so dangerous and took so long to stop him.
I wish that the MCU would introduce HobGoblin possibly in the SpiderMan movie after Spider Man No Way Home.Having him play almost a main villain role and shown to be working for Norman Osborn similar to SpiderMan The Animated Series and later working for Wilson Fisk.

Hobgoblin is my favorite of the two, and I know it's because I grew up with the Spiderman from the 90's series, but I don't care. I always liked way more the Orange/blue than Green/purple color scheme.

hobgoblin has always been my favorite. when i was younger i had a ben Reilly spidey suit action figure and a hobgoblin action figure they were my favorite. that’s what put me on to both of those characters

Hobgoblin is probably the most underrated Spider-Man villain. He was basically Spider-Man's arch enemy in the early and mid eighties. Very dangerous and cunning villain; should he higher on Spidey's greatest villains list than Sandman or Rhino.
He’s not popular because most of his adaptations didn’t show his best aspects
@@arshiataheri3931 Yeah, he was popular in the 90's when the animated series was out but quickly got puahed back to the wayside when Norman Osborn returned from the dead in the comics.

spider-man no way home - the spell dr strange uses erases all memory of spidey. green goblin manipulates our ned leeds by using a combination of peters identity & the fact that all of the villains died “at the hands of spider man “(and maybe the mysterio stuff as well) and it leads ned to becoming peter’s hobgoblin

Waited a long time for this fan favorite Spider-Man villain to get his own history of episode, not to mention he deserves the live action treatment in the MCU or Sony’s Marvel Universe not to mention Mark Hamill did his voice over in Spider-Man the Animated Series. The Hobgoblin deserves to make more media appearances
