It was unfortunately bad timing when it got released due to the death of princess Diana and the the release date kept getting pulled back i honestly think the album would be huge if it was released now it was also a big change in musical style for her and not all of her fans took to it which was a shame.
It was a pity that the album had such little recognition internationally although the singles charted well in some territories, like this one, that peaked at number 13 in my country (Spain). As far as I know "Breathe" , "Did It Again" and "Some Kind Of Bliss" had some success in some Southern and Eastern European countries such as Italy, Greece, Russia, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Estonia and also in Israel. Anyway this album was terribly ignored worldwide considering how good it is.

The album was underrated at that time. Throughout the years and Kylie's waves of successfull releases, it was finally rediscovered and got its deserved spot. It was so that way that it got a special edition reprint a few yrs ago, on its 25th anniversary, if I'm not wrong. The album wasn't a success at that time mainly because people wasn't prepared for an experimental electronic sound it has. The music industry was also lacking of an identidy, as usually happens at the end of every decade. Interesting though that Ray Of Light was released few months later, and kind of paved a new path for dance/electronic pop music, but it's a shame that Impossible Princess wasn't recognized as an important shift of sound of that time as well. But fortunately, as I said, following years came to do justice to its preciosity.

One of my favorites. When I play it on my hi-fi (actual full-range loudspeakers), people are so shocked that its Kylie. (and the date of release) I tell them I've loved this ever since I first saw it on this TV program called 'MTV', which used to play music. What a disgrace MTV is now. Meanwhile, I'd crawl across hot desert sand just to w**** over her shadow. We love you Kylie, and wish you only the best life has to offer.
Idk but this song and video is a core memory of mine. One of the few songs that i remember watching as it premiered in MTV Fresh. It had lukewarm success in MTV Asia Hitlist iirc but i vividly remember it to this date nevertheless.

Breathe by Kylie Minogue-I am very lucky to have first heard this sound around the 2005/2006 timeframe from one of her greatest hits music cds. For whatever reason this song was even in one of my sleeptime dreams by around the 2007/2008 timeframe. Regardless of this song’s meaning, Breathe by Kylie Minogue is both abstract and creative at the same time.

This album was released in the UK just as Princess Diana died. They changed the name of the album here out of respect and the nation/world was in mourning. Nobody bought music which affected sales! Such a good album ❤
