    The eyes have it on this one. I enjoy the way you paint. There is whimsy and a romantic lilt to your finished work that enchants. The viewer sees not only a keen likness of your subject but also a romantic flare via your strokes and use of color that brings life to this dog. We get the rare chance to see your many years of experience through your crisp lessons and the ease with which you paint. Thank you for all of that. Kathryn

    Thank you, Rachel. I've been painting faces in watercolor for years putting the pupil in first I see my error.

      Sometimes I'll paint the pupil first too, it just depends on the look I'm going for. Sometimes when you paint over a dark, it softens it up a little bit and looks nice.

      @@rachelsstudiodotcom when you do I hope you will demo it. I paint very loose and keeping the eye is problem area. for the 2 pieces currently in WIP I am going to try putting pupil in last
