- During a nice walk in the woods, a man hears a sound that makes him freeze in his tracks. It sounds like a creature in agony, desperately crying for help. As he follows the source of the noise, he finds a terrified cat screaming at the top of its lungs. As he looks closer, he turns pale when he realizes something shocking. At that moment, the man has to choose between going to look for help inside a mysterious abandoned cottage, or let the cat succumb to its unfortunate situation. What he does changes his life forever!

My wife and I adopted a couple wild cats guessing them to be five months. We did not gain their full trust for the longest time. A year and one half later neither of us can walk bare footed without one or both of the cats trying to suck our toes, or walk to the mail box without them in toe. They take turns in the lap or sleeping between my legs. We love these cats, and they love us!

First of all, I'm a cat lover, so in these circumstances I'm sure I would have done what the man did, may be faster, highly alerted in the intuitioned feeling of the scaring and dangereous situation. But this is not an answer to your question. Regarding to the specific souroundings and state of mind, the man did overcome fearful feelings and offered a kind and curageous help to the cat family, one that can inspire people all over to reach out and take serious actions in such a challenging situation - incredible story!

SO SO HAPPY this man rescued kittens & mommy. This description of cabin as dangerous & spooky seems ridiculous yo me . BUT guess that's how he felt. Won't disrespect his feelings. I sm just grateful he rescued them. AND took them home !!!❤❤❤

I have in my lifetime rescued more cats and kittens mother cat even brought her babies home to me after she kept visiting me for about a month the cats were the best they were so grateful and very affectionate I had several for several years

I neve= had real kids, so I always had cats, alot of them.
My name is Marcy and of course I would enter that old house without a second thought! I have 1 dog and 5 cats of my own in my life. All of them are rescued by me. I would either adopt these cats also or make sure they got good homes. There is no way I would ever let them suffer and die. I also happen to pick things up for myself if I think that I could use them. I have found 5 perfectly good pieces of furniture for myself including animal toys. I just recently picked up a very large cat climber and scratching posts for my own 5 cats. I would rescue any animal anywhere and at any time. This goes for humans as well. Nothing would ever stop me from doing any kind of rescue. I just want that to be known. My GOD highly bless anyone who happens to read this comment. Amen.

These stories are all very poignant.
And we are so glad that they promote kindness and compassion to animals but too many of them are looking and sounding suspiciously like contrived situations. How come there's always a camera conveniently at hand when they come upon a tragic situation. Showing the "rescuers" being "heros." My concern is the welfare of the animals being shown. I mean many rescued animals are obviously in genuine dire straits where genuine rescue people go into known situations or help street animals.
But others look definitely set up. How are these poor animals being treated in order to tug the heartstrings. Am I becoming too cynical ?
I sign petitions every day against animal abuse and often times it’s concerning these made up act it out stories of animal rescue. People purposely put cats and dogs lives in danger in order to obtain LIKES on social media. It’s disgusting!
However for Genuine rescues... I applaud those heroes but they don’t carry cameras around with them. In fact if they’re carrying a camera a true hero would throw it on the ground and go help the animals.
Are you sure this Smith character isn't a 7 year old fearful girl? Because, dang, that was one seriously wimpy persona you came up with. Old, abandoned dwellings are meant to be explored, just as cats and kittens were meant to be rescued should the need arise. Neither are scary in the slightest, and combined with each other, it's simply a satisfying and fulfilling day.
