- Renata started having symptoms like extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, nausea, ear infections, and fevers. All those symptoms seemed to be explained when Renata found out she was pregnant, but that wasn’t the case.
After a routine OBG-YN appointment, they found Renata’s white blood cell count was extremely high, so her primary care doctor sent her to the emergency room an hour away in Philadelphia. This is where Renata found out she had Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL).
In this cancer vlog, Renata opens up about the reality of chemotherapy while being pregnant and how she was able to give birth to a healthy baby boy despite the odds being against her.

Fatigue to Leukemia - Renata | Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia | The Patient Story
• Fatigue to Leukemia - ...
Just wanted you to know that my husband was a “Guinea Pig” for several of your medications when he was diagnosed with ALL in 1970. He was treated at Bethesda. He was 23 years old and they gave him 6 weeks to live. However, the trial drugs worked! He is now 77 years old. Never give up!
Oh that is FANTASTIC!!!!
Wish we could have updates on these patients, i get totally invested in their stories
I was literally just thinking the same thing I watched this channel so much, I honestly think it’s because it lets me know that there is always somebody going through something way worse than you are. Also, I feel like at some point we’re all going to get cancer and I like to be prepared for the options that are out there for treatment. I know that sounds really morbid, but at least within my own life I know three people that are currently going through treatments. I’m just mentally preparing myself for the inevitable.
They always leave us hanging. It's so bizarre and sad. It always ends so abruptly . What an angel this woman is ❤❤❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yes, agreed, we need updates
I agree
You are "So Strong" my mom was diagnosed with AML at 60 in July 2002 and didn't survive. We lost her in February 2003 just after her 61st birthday. May GOD KEEP YOU CANCER FREE. IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME 🙏🏾
I pray you have a full recovery and enjoy a long life.
She's not into the grownup version of make-believe. Sorry. Not Sorry. 😳
I was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL this past December. I've had chemo and I just finished my 1 month of Blincyto. I had my PET scan, bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture with chemo this past Friday. I'll find out the results on the 18th. My oncologist wants me to have my transplant in May. I'll have to see what he says on the 18th. I've given it all to God. I'm not worrying because it would be a waste of energy and wouldn't change anything. You are in my prayers! We've got this Renata!! We're fighters and we're Warriors! Please, keep me updated if you can. Peg
What a wild ride. I'm so glad your beautiful baby boy was born healthy and that you seem to be doing well.
My husband was diagnosed 5 weeks back. He’s 72. Does not drink or smoke. He eats pretty healthy. Walks everyday 2-5 miles a day depending on the weather. Dr told him at this point no treatments just going to watch it closely.
You are a beautiful person and I hope you get to grow old with your precious family, God Bless ❤
Yeah, your god sure did bless her alright - with cancer ♋️. 😳
I'm sorry you seem to be so bitter and mocking to those of us who believe in the Lord! I intend to pray for you because I'd love for Him to heal your wounded spirit and show you just WHO He is. NOT because I have any need to be right but I WOULD love to meet you in Heaven someday! You will be a powerful witness because you initially did not believe and then you turned around and repented from sin and invite Jesus into your heart. He WILL show you who He is and how very much He LOVES you if you ask Him. He won't force you to accept Him because we have free will. Your chosen name is ironic. In the Bible, Jesus states "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end..."
Renata R, I pray you are doing well! Your little guy is precious and adorable. Prayers for you and your family!
What a testimony! My heart was in my throat the whole time she was telling her story. I'm praying for a healthy, long life for her.
Renata, stay positive. People will say all kinds of things. I went stage 4 lymphoma two years ago, I learned to tune people out. Everyone has good intentions, but sometimes not needed to share. Peace be with you and your family. God bless you
“ if I were you I would be depressed” why would anyone say that?? Instead they( as I) will encourage you to stay positive and to know that you have a lovely little family that loves and needs you. Sending all the faith to you for healing and full remission and beating this cancer
Yeah, I had a "friend" who said similar things pretty frequently.
Some people are just missing a sensitivity chip, and that's being kind.
I'm sending you love, positivity and healing energy. Hang in there Renata. You got this. ❤
I can’t begin to imagine being pregnant and then forced to be treated for cancer. But THAT BABY is so beautiful! I hope to god you did not have to work through chemo. All the best. You’ll be in my prayers. 🩵💙💜
Wow, my lady! This is truly a miracle!
What an inspiration! To not only have cancer but get meningitis and then have the cancer slowly start creeping back in requiring a stem cell transplant.. courageous and strong!
Praying for you! Your baby is adorable!
May God continue to bless you and your family. Enjoy being a Mom!
👩🔬
No way I could have fought as hard as her. Astounding will to live.
You are beautiful inside-out Renata. I pray that God will heal you
What a beautiful baby boy🙏🏼💖
Thanks, but I'm even handsomer as a man now. 😳
May God be a healer
You have to keep on fighting I was diagnosed with Marginal Zone B-cell Lymphoma a couple months ago it has all been found by accident from a Gluten/Celiacs Disease rash that would not heal and a couple lumps that all were biopsied that came back showing the same cancer you have and a totally different cancer but after further testing turns out I have Marginal Zone B-cell Lymphoma my main doctor is base in Pittsburgh and my other in Ohio.
I hope to meet you one day on your courageous journey to hug you and stay strong don't ever give up you will win your fight ❤

A friend of mine went through Leukemia probably 10 years ago and he is doing fine. Not sure if he had to have a bone marrow transplant but went through a lot of treatments. Last year I had to deal with a low grade bladder cancer and received immunothearpy. So far so good just keeping an eye on it. But like you I didn't get depressed. The dr said I had a very good chance of keeping it in remission so that helped my attitude. I hardly ever think about it.
Sounds like you're in a very good place. Just focus on your family(as I am sure you will) and you will be fine. Best of luck to you.
How is she doing today???
Sending you strength, healing energy and ❤️🙏🏼
Best of health to you.
Blessings to you❣️❣️❣️
Prayers🙏🏼💜
Praying for complete healing..🙏🏽
I have a very good family friend that is going through treatment for leukemia as well, he also has the Philadelphia variant. I believe that his is positive because he will be on chemo once a month for five days for at least the next two years. After every chemo treatment, he gets a spinal tap because they say once it gets to the brain or spine there’s nothing else they can do for him, he knows that but he’s a fighter just like you are for your little one. I hope things continued to go well for you.
You got this beautiful lady! What a precious family you have.
Praying for you. God is good. Bless you ...
Truly beautiful, strong, brave and amazing lady. I’m sending you so much love and positive healing prayers always ❤🙏xxx

Prayers for you and your family
Prayers sent your way Renata 🙏🙏🙏
Saying prayers for you Renata.🙏
God bless you and your beautiful family ❤❤❤
Continue to stay positive, it’s that faith you need to carry you through. I’m just like that, when anything life threatening happens to me my faith elevates, so much so, I’m at ease, when in real life the normal person wouldn’t. My prayers are with you throughout all this for a great outcome. I know from your journey so far, that, God has your back, already. . Blessings on you and your family 🎉🙏🏽
My heart goes out to you and your family. I am SO SO SO sorry you’re enduring this and I PRAY that you will overcome this.
Praying for you!
She's not into the grownup version of make-believe. Sorry. Not Sorry. 😳
@@alphaomega1351don't be a nasty Debbie Downer. No need for it.

❤❤❤ praying for you
The baby boy is so cute 😊
Some times the stuff we eliminate from our diet has nutrients that the body needs. I noticed when I don't eat beef I get brain fog. I eat an inch of beef slice and the fog is gone.
Blessings
😂my prayers go out to her and the family
🙏 ❤️ 🙏

🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
whenever i hear that a doctor is “thorough” all i think is that they’re effective at billing insurance companies. if you have less than stellar insurance they treat you like youre an antivaxxer
God wanted that baby to be born. When everything works together like that, it's God. It's time to get saved. Jesus Christ is the Savior and the healer.
