I have a restaurant and hire inexperienced people. Mostly international students
i am opening cafeteria in Ajman. i am also looking for people. how is your experience with hiring student. i mean are they doing a good job. i am personally lost since i am first time business owner and getting lots of conflicting info
Brother I am in Canada, here lots of Indian students come for studies. Government has allowed them 20 hours pr week on payroll, but that's not enough for them. They work on cash as well. Because of that they are very hardworking, since they have to pay 3 times the fee what Canadian citizen pays here. So they work hard to make money in order to pay their fee instead of bothering their parents for school fee. I hire them for general work like, dishwashing, cleaning, cutting Vegetables, disposing garbage and packing orders. On the other side these students can leave the work anytime as they are always hunting for better opportunities to work on cash. So I don't trust them much anymore. I only hire them for part-time. Never rely upon them. Yes they will work hard to earn money. Their only motivation is money.
I had a very bad experience when I assigned them the duty for customer service and taking orders from customers. They mess up the order and when customers are angry they don't contact the owner instead they go to Google to put a bad review about the business. When I saw bad Google rating, right away I removed them from the front desk and took incharge myself. As a business owner my main goal is to make customers satisfied and make them come back again and again. It's very important to build a good relationship with your customers. I try to remember their names and welcome them with their names, they feel special that way.
In my experience I have learned this formula for my restaurant, (Tasty food + Right order + Excellent customer service = Happy Customer ) I hope that will help. Good luck 🤞 with your business. May Allah bless you and put lots of Barakah in it. Allah Huma Ameen ya Rabulalameen 🤲😊
