I keep hearing “perfect for beginners “. But what I’m seeing months later is experts having a blast with this. That’s what sold me.

Within the first month of use with the Unistellar eVscope in early 2020, I saw more galaxies than in the previous 30 years. These automated scopes are a major game changer. They are slow to enter the market because of the nature of the telescope industry.

Loving mine!!! I have a regular astro rig, but I’m having physical issues (back and such) so the portability of SSs50 was a perfect alternative for me!!!!

Robotic telescopes have been out for a few years. I’ve owned a Vespera for a while. Yes, this is what us amateurs want. What SeeStar is doing is lowering the price point dramatically. Good for consumers. I preordered one in June, who knows when it will arrive. Will compare to what i use now. I am curious

An Equatorial Mount would be a great inclusion. Imagine the images one could get then.

Gents - it is super sensitive to leveling. It won't even let me proceed from the Lunar menu without leveling. THEN it wants calibration! Spin it around and around until I'm dizzy, I mean, it's been calibrated with some kind of gyro. When it's satisfied with that, it has a green circle to tell it's done. BUT WAIT!It'ss no longer level any longer. Groan, level again. Imway too old to bend over to the ground to do that, so it is up on a table for the S50 to do all those tasks. I just ordered a 3/8" adapter to do three-way leveling without having to adjust the tripod.

If I ordered one today, how long would it take to actually receive one now? (Sept 2023) There seems to be a waiting list or a delay in shipping that could be months long?

Would it be wrong for me to say technically a binoculars is a folded refractor ?
