concidences? The word assassin is often believed to derive from the word hashshashin (Arabic: حشّاشين, ħashshāshīyīn, also hashishin, hashashiyyin, or assassins), and shares its etymological roots with hashish (/hæˈʃiːʃ/ or /ˈhæʃiːʃ/; from Arabic: حشيش ḥashīsh). It referred to a group of Nizari Shia Muslims who worked against various political targets(they invented political murder) Founded by Hassan-i Sabbah, the Assassins were active in the fortress of Alamut in Persia from the 8th to the 14th centuries, and later expanded by capturing forts in Syria. The group killed members of the Abbasid, Seljuq, Fatimid, and Christian Crusader elite for political and religious @t is commonly believed that Assassins were under the influence of hashish during their killings or during their indoctrination the history will repeat it self!

After reading this article, I could not stop laughing every time the train made a sound in the video.
that was a fun comment but I know they have good reason to take safety so seriously
Brings back so many memories. I've worked in Ninh Binh and surrounding areas. Even been to a secret explosives plant that was disguised as a food production facility surrounded by rice fields. The drab grey of the day and general overcast feel is so common there along with the endless half built dwellings. Food was amazing and very cheap, the local home brew Rice whiskey was incredibly fun and dangerous. Everyone seemed to have their own special brew hidden away.

This is really quite fascinating. I'm used to watching European cab views, and living in Australia, where the rail corridor is secured and separating from the rest of the area. Here there are homes and shops right up the track basically, with their entrances facing the track, and little to no security or separation.
I get the feeling the corridor is wider and the poor just went ahead and ‘built’ what they wanted where they wanted and corruption being what it is; officials looked the other way.

if you love train surfing why not comes to Bangladesh !!! you can with ride rail top notch window view
There were 124 ppl died last year on railway accidents in Vietnam, 80% of those cases came from illegal cross roads between the railway and the road. That's why the locomotive driver horned like a crazy shit out entire his trip...
I wouldn't like to be up front on a line like that, so unsegregated from everything, with houses right up against the track and what look like crude level-crossings.
@@johnhardman3 those are the result of a poor city administration from the government. The railway was built by French colonial over century ago, a long time before the blooming of population in Hanoi which leads to people illegal land occupation, despite these are adjacent to the railway, and the government has done nothing with it.
One of the few train videos to not be inside the cabin! Getting to hear the actual sound of the city and the train is fantastic!
Since I was a child I was interested in trains and I liked how they went near me, thanks to your videos I remembered how I used to go to my aunt's when she lived near the train station where the trains went, I always looked at them from the window when they went, greetings from Poland!
That was one of the most stressful drives I've seen; so many crossings where people might step in front of the train! No wonder you're sounding the horn! Very good trip!
most crossing barriers are controlled by workers, very few automatic ones exist. but in the meantime, of course, there could be dozens of automatic crossings as Vietnam does develop quickly.
You would need to be alert and relaxed at the same time. I would never sleep if this was my job.

Whoooaaaaa , literally nothing is different about this journey, the buildings and vehicles were so simillar to that of our India . Amazing shot keep it up
Bonjour, incroyable video, bravo !
Merci, beau travail !!!
Fascinating journey. I wish I were a train Driver ! Wonderful experience as you see the surroundings as a train driver ... wow. And overall a good video ! It is also wonderful because it depicts - as we move from city areas with dirt and plastic trashes, we slowly landed in to greener side of the country. It's a virtual trip to Vietnam ...
Nossa uma viagem fora de série ,gosto muito dessas máquinas maravilhosas criada pelo homem ,pelo menos alguma coisa boa o homem fez nesse mundo de bom muito show .
Watching this reminds me of dreams I had 40-50 years ago. Back then I often dreamt of car rides through vaguely familiar (and exaggeratedly vast) cities and countryside. I never saw the vehicle I was driving, just that eerily beautiful terrain out there. In this video I just shut off the sound and there I am. Dreaming again.
Hehe sometimes there’s this cool vibe in your dreams, and you feel even better than in real life 🙃
A car in a dream is symbol for you body, the house of your soul.
The rail is your life road.
its speed is just crazy for such sourrounding conditions...
Coming from a NYC Subway video where the train is completely sperated from everything else on elevated tracks those reasons go half the speed of this one. As a NYC resident is maddening to see third world countries operating mass transit better than we do.
I liked the sequence when the train is going 80 to 90 mph and that bus blows past him like he's standing still.
In a craphole placce like this, human life is worth nothing anyway, and people who live around there know to stay the hell off the tracks.
Really beautiful and interesting. I'm Train Driver in Germany, because of that I like this really!!!
Brilliant, wonderful to see another part of our world, and get a glimpse of how people live.
Pretty impressive speed on this one. It would cost a fortune to modernize this line, because of all the buildings next to the tracks. Enjoyed the journey, thanks for posting.
I used the very same train to get from Ninh Binh to Ha Noi back in 2018 when I was in VN for vacation. That brings back memories! I think the total distance covered should be around 60kms, it is not far from Hanoi.
Fantastic video. I was on that same train Hanoi to Ninh Bình in 2020. Ninh Bình is beautiful! 😍😍😍😍😍
The maddest railway I have ever seen.... travelling so close to buildings and people.
Trust me, the way the road traffic works, a train is probably the least of your worries there ;)
BottomFragger but the duration and distance for stopping a train is much longer than road automobiles...
What always interests me is wherever you go, people don't care about how their country, their own neighborhood looks. They throw trash wherever they stand or out of the window. I guess with poverty, there is little pride of place and heritage. Life is cheap. Everything is temporary and worthless.
You think this is bad, there are some youtube videos how peopel have tents and stands on the track and use it as a marketplace.....
Enjoyed it very much! A very satisfying experience for an armchair railfan like myself. Certainly more gratifying than my much earlier physical presence in Vietnam, forty-seven years ago.
Thanks for making and posting such a video. It's one of many ways people can see the world.
Vietnam is drastically different than Korea, China, and especially Japan. Most train videos are Japanese where their system is... huge. I followed much of this track with Google maps on another monitor... Slums and poverty is pretty much ALL of Vietnam. Not to say there isn't modern areas or some technology. The whole country is rural. But rural Japan is... beautiful, unlike the buildings here. And obviously, the nature area (jungles) of Vietnam are liking wonderful things to see.
While some people complained about garbage, well - I gather they don't really have much of a garbage system in place. A lot of things are also being re-used I guess. Ho Chi Minh City seems to be where the wealth of the country is. Glad that the USA has normalized relations with the country so there's more peace and business.
One of my absolute favourite videos of this nature!

I have a friend who drives trains in the UK - he enjoys the job but does say it can be boring sometimes. Somehow I don't think these drivers ever have time to be bored!

qué hermoso video me encanta las bocinas los felizito gracias por compartir maravilloso 🙏🙏🙏
seen so many ride videos of train but this one was so life like... the dirt, shops, people, cars, bikes, houses, offices.... felt like i was living the moment. can you please do more such videos of train on such busy routes?
Pretty sure the only requirement that the railroad operators make the train engineers do is test the horn every 3 seconds. If they dont blow the horn 2,634 times per trip they get fired...
Given how unsafe the train tracks are in comparison to other countries' railway systems (having train tracks right next to the streets and shops with no safety barrier in some places!), I'm not surprised that the train driver is sounding the horn.
Most countries have whistle boards where they have to blow the horn. But then again, most countries have safer railway lines than this...
That speed when shops, houses, roads are so closed to the tracks, it feels surreal.
I loved it, certainly enjoyed watching that one. Many Thanks for sharing it.
I've been in the train from Hué to Danang: so beautiful!
I’ve been on this train. Took it from Hanoi to Hue back in 2018. Was quite the experience.
Ok so hang on.... Are the busy crossings manned by dudes with orange caution wands to stop traffic? It seems crazy but most of the gates seem to have that dude.
Well, I think I saw world's longest shopping mile 😄.... And look what kind of service they have, the train just brings the customers back to their start position.😁
Despite the surroundings being a bit, lets say, dilapidated, the train tracks themselves are in pretty good condition.
Great video - thanks for uploading. Let’s those of us that live in other parts of the world see Vietnam as it really is. I like it.e

Awesome video, Nice clean cab window. Love the sound when the diesel engine starts accelerating from 12:00 onwards. The train horn has a terrible sound. Train driver must probably use ear muffs. CoCo or A1A type locomotive hauled train by the sound of the triple axles. That rail track is in very good condition. Interesting long straight track in parrallel with the main road.

Just wondering if that incredible landscape of Hang Mua would have been visible from the train if it wasn't so foggy.
This is probably the part of the trans-Vietnam route that most travellers skip by visiting Cat Ba between Ninh Binh and Hanoi (or opposite direction).
Thanks for uploading this. Feel terribly sorry for being unable to travel this year...

It’s crazy how fast it goes around buildings and traffic. Makes me think my country is a little tight on the safety regulations. Also I like how there are workers at the crossings
Yea it is too speedy. Am afraid accidents happen frequently. In Ethiopia the newly built Electric train's max speed is 80km/hr. This one I guess is running beyond 100km/hr
@@denismth 100kmh is not fast at all. I was already 300 Kmh in a europe train
Accidents are frequent and the gore is epic. Hundreds get beheaded and delimbed every year by this train.

Hello sir, nice video

Thanks heaps bro...from us here in melbourne 😎👍🏽
It seems optional to actually shut the barriers at level crossings. Utterly terrifying
Watching this on a big screen TV. This is like a thrill ride.
This kind of reminds me of bus rides in my wife's home country of the Philippines. That bus didn't slow down much, even when navigating narrow roads with people and dogs roaming around on either side, just feet away. The bus driver sounded the horn very frequently, but usually didn't slow down at all. I was sure we were going to hit someone. People were even playing cards on the side of the road, and simply leaned forward as if to avoid getting hit as we passed! Amazingly (at least to me), we never hit anyone.
I'm wondering how frequent accidents are with these trains in Vietnam...probably not very frequent, despite what we in the West may perceive as being extremely unsafe.
But it is extremely unsafe, and people are very easy to hit if they walk on the tracks since oncoming trains are insanely silent if you are infront of them instead of properly off the tracks to the side, even with the horn going you might assume the train is at a distance on different tracks
Try Indonesian or Sri Lankan buses, they're faster than an airplane going to take off
Imagine having businesses and homes that close to the track!
I couldn't stop watching.....I rode all the way from Hanoi to Ninh Binh in the comfort of my living room. And the bad thing was, I found myself actually looking for familiar landmarks.
@@cherrysdiy5005 I kept thinking to myself...."That place looks kinda familiar"...when it really didn't :)

Hmm I wonder why, almost like they were colonized for a long time and then had war done on them or something.
Is it strange that I always felt like the trains when I was back in Vietnam ran faster than the TGV because of the loud noise plus the shaking plus the surrounding scenes? 😂
