    In this video, I review one of my favorite kitchen appliances of all times: the Cuisinart Elemental 13-Cup Food Processor.
    0:00 Intro
    0:10 You're gonna love this song
    1:04 Welcome
    2:20 Introducing the Cuisinart Elemental 13-Cup Food Processor.
    3:27 How the work bowl attaches to the base (brilliant)
    4:29 How the blade attachments... uh, attach (genius)
    5:20 Put a lid on it (love this)
    6:20 More attachments and how they work (mind blown)
    8:23 How to turn a 13-cup food processor into a 4-cup food processor
    9:38 Wait, there's still more?! It makes noodles?
    10:46 Let's summarize all this
    11:52 What this food processor has done to help me be a better dad (can it really do that, too?)
    I've owned other food processors in the past, but this one surpasses them all by far.

    I became a Raw, Organic Foodist. You know, the people who eat things like ice cream and brownies but they are really salads. Cutting all that produce for daily juice or to fill up my dehydrator trays though, made my hands hurt. I just discovered this food processor. I feel like I was walking 5 miles to a stream to get water and I now have just been introduced to running tap water!!! ERR MY GERRD! This machine is like heaven. Great Video! Thank You!

    Thanks for the review. It sounds like it has all the advantages of a food processor that I have been looking for....really answers to all my needs. the only thing is that it is only 550 Watts. Do you find it powerful enough? Can it process a bunch of dates? My previous f.p. had a wattage of 675, and it couldn't handle it. I didn't find it powerful enough. Thank you

    How well does the locking/adjusting feature work on the slicing blade. I was planning on buying this, but I was wondering if the slicing blade might slip and self adjust while in use.

    • @chefkibby
      @chefkibby  Před 3 lety +1

      Alex, I have used the adjustable slicing blade many times and have had no difficulty with it holding its position. It’s an incredibly useful tool for slicing cucumbers, apples, cabbage, you name it! How do you plan on using it?

    • @lxxresearcher8171
      @lxxresearcher8171 Před 2 lety +2

      The slicing blade on our unit does not slice a consistent thickness, and the adjustment knob rotates, so I have to frequently reset it. We have only used it a few times, mostly to slice and grate cheese, but it has never made consistent slices. We also are having problems with the "clutch" slipping, that is, the blade stops but the motor keeps spinning. This unit is not sturdy. Frankly, we wish we still had our old Cuisinart.

    Hello Chef Kibby - I am pretty sure your video single-handedly convinced my husband to buy this for me for Christmas, so you should be getting a little affiliate thank you from Canada. I was most interested in your comparison with the previous-gen Cuisinart. My (now old) Cuisinart was a wedding gift from 25 years ago. It works like a charm and in fact must be a slight upgrade or slightly newer than the old Cuisinart you used in your demo, as it has an adjustable slicer (not multiple separate widths) and an insertable smaller bowl and blade for smaller batches. My question - although I am sure I will enjoy my new super-Cuisinart, my only problem with my old one is that the bowl and plastic on the large blade have become brittle over the years from being put in the dishwasher (if only I had known!), so that pieces have flaked off and I am afraid to use it for fear of damaging further (brought out for annual pesto-making fest only). I have had no luck sourcing a replacement bowl - do you have any resources I can try or other thoughts?
    Thank you.

      Thanks for the comment, Alice! Old work bowls can sometimes be hard to find. We’ve lucked out at a few rummage sales, but I don’t have a go-to supplier for such things. If you find one, let me know so I can pass it along!!

There are in fact THREE sets of spinning blades with this set: a standard blade for the big bowl, a shorter standard blade for the 4-cup insert, and a plastic dough blade that only fits the large bowl.
