Loved this. The only time field events get any recognition is when someone breaks a world record or wins gold on these larger platforms. These athletes in the field work just as hard as the ones on the one on the track. No tv time… the spectators don’t mention them. None of it. So sad!!!
Sam, you have always been an enthusiastic vaulter and for certain a good friend to your competitors. Pursue that lifestyle again now that you have so justly vented. Focus on how many of us missed your presence in this event and are so happy to see you rise to the top ranks again through sheer determination! We fans, your family and your friends are the only ones who really matter wherever that bar awaits you!

Wtf is he talking about? I just don't understand his attitude at all. Maybe I don't know something but without any context this does sound like rambling.
How many interviews of T&F athletes do you hear an athlete use the word "turbid"(1:57) when describing the physical and psychological conditions during the pole vault? Sam is unique and someone who has done his best to represent T&F as a class act and he is also a Lt in the Army reserves.

God if he was yanked from the Tokyo team because he had an asymptomatic positive Covid test, he would have every right to be LIVID! If that is true, the governing bodies should be ashamed and publicly acknowledge their error. That is just downright pathetic.
He was mad that he wasn’t allowed to infect his competitors with covid when he tested positive himself.

He got Covid and was therefore isolated and left behind.
He didn’t necessarily get Covid. He tested positive and was eliminated without a second test to rule out a false positive.
Some context: 1) He's an anti-vaxxer who refused to get vaccinated against the coronavirus. 2) Three members of the Australian team in Tokyo had to be quarantined after they had close contact with Kendricks (he shook their hands and hugged them).

Sam tested positive for Covid when he arrived in Tokyo. Sure, that may not have been the Olympic Committe's fault, but he was forced to withdraw.
