Started wakeboarding around 1990. My first board was a Skurfer with only loops for bindings. Man this sport hasn’t progressed at all 😉. These guys are insane. Good to see Parks still out there. I can only imagine the beating his body has taken.
can someone please explain where they are being pulled from in some of the clips? For example in Thailand?
In most of the clips they used a winch.
Croatia -> crane
Austria-> winch
Greenland -> boat
France -> winch
Portugal -> boat
Thailand-> winch (that's what I guess, cause you can't see a watercraft but I admit that it's actually pretty insane to do that with a winch)

yeah, so they use a winch like lea sch said but they have individual clips that they put together so it forms a video
A Winch, picture a heavy box with a rope that pulls in line superfast. They normally cost like 10k

The places these dudes wakeboard are sketchy. Looks like snake city in most of these bodies of water lol
It's sick but some of the clips felt a little too doctored imo. The whole crane thing was dope. It's believable for obvious reasons, but the thailand segment was kind of wack. Don't get me wrong there was some decent tricks and cool scenery. The infinite rope thing just felt too video game-y to me. like real snow, real street, real skate etc are all obv set ups at certain times, but it makes sense why they are. I just don't see the point in setting up massive long lines in the rivers of thailand to do a few carves and a couple 180s. It's called WAKEboarding for a reason. Maybe I just don't know the sport and don't get it, but I feel like the lack of boat really subtracts from the overall esthetic and where the sport came from.
