    1. The water level in the well is higher than the water outlet
    2. Fill the vat with water and then close it, use gravity to make the water fall down to reduce the air pressure in the vat, and then pump the water from the water inlet into the vat

    Matter will always occupy space. As water leaves the tank, air is meant to occupy that space but it's sealed and connected to the well.. so as water leaves via gravity by default, fresh water comes in to replace that space needed to be occupied.

    I understand how it works, if you notice, the output pipe is much biger size than the input pipe. This is becaused it needs an amount of water to discharge from the thank in order to create a vacuum at the airspace inside the tank thereby forcing the air to suck water from the inlet pipe as it is the only way to balance whatever output that comes out. To insure the continuity of flow, the size of the inlet pipe should be equal to the size ot outlet pipe, but it should be installed into appropriate distance from the thank, otherwise a mismatch of of sizes may force your flow to stop as the tank will put it to empty. The output pipe should also be installed declined up to the output pipe of same size as the input pipe. The bigger and farther of output pipe you used, the stronger pressure you get.

      @323ric Před 2 lety +2

      Ahhh, no.
      This is all just a very convoluted way to prime a siphon, which is a very simple principal. It depends upon the outlet point being lower than the input. The barrel just gets the whole thing started.

    I don't like to comment people posting, but I think the outlet pipe has to been 10X longer then the inlet pipe from the well to be able to flow. Example: the pipe from the well to the tank is 10 feet, then the outlet pipe from the tank to the discharge (outlet) has to be 100 feet. We are taking about physic (gravity)
