This is still a really good premium. Not the fastest in a straight line but it is more agile than many tanks at 9.3. T72AV on the other hand has insanely low win rate ATM, because almost all Soviet line players have only T72AV or T72M2, and quit after 1 death.
@@collander7766 Why isn't it shit? Its round is okay. It's gun handling is bad. It's mobility is poor. It has no armor to compensate for poor mobility. Gen 1 thermals are nice, but gen 2s are as low as 8.0 now. The tech tree Leo 1A5 is a better tank then the A1A1L44.

OF-40MTCA is also a better tank. So it's the XM-803. Why? They're mobility, with a decent round, and good gun handling. Those are just the MBTs off of the top of my head.
I can still remenber when i got it. My friend bullied me into buying it (it was the first thing i bought) When i got it i was awfull because i only played planes and my friend played ita 10.0-10.7. But there where some matches where i was really good i got 4 kills and hopt in to a plane and when i couldent i get in the Leo again. When the summer event was there whit the Mexas i grindet so hard so i had 1 more tank in my line up (it was pain like all events) I would recomend it but dont the same mistacke i did by buying it whitout any toptire experince, i Had luck i that i didint fuck so much up for my team and that if i die i would go in it again or go in a plane. @@xslashx1908 i havent done the mistake but i have a friend who did it and 1 thats about to do it. I actually grinded all the way to the warrior and chieftains without any premiums. After that i got the best purchase of my life the rooikat its one of the most fun tanks to use at 8.7
L44 has been powercrept. DM13(120) at 9.0 is decent since its a 120, but everything else kinda sucks about it. I'd get TURM III or 2IP over the L44. Buy the 2IP during the upcoming sales an dave yourself 30USD.

@@spray916TURM III will still be somewhat useful at 9.0 as well if you get both for grinding purposes so you’ll have a fairly robust lineup if you bring the Gepard, L/44, TURM III, and either the Leopard A1A1 or 1A5 (both are good)

I would say that you forgot to say something very important: The mobilty on this thing isn't so bad if you take into consideration the very good neutral steering + reverse speed. It's ideal of peek-a-boo tactics
Basically every tank that’s not Russian can neutral steer. That’s like saying “this car can drive.” Like yeah, I’d sure hope it can. Doesn’t exactly put it ahead of the competition tho
I have the tam 2 ip, Leo l44 and leopard 2 pl. The Leo 1 armor at 10.7 is in real game situations just slightly behind the Leo 2. The Leo 1 is still leaps and bounds ahead of the tam due to the gun and thermals. I am happy with my purchase
@@cheemsman6789 yes... 2a4 is very similar to 2pl but has slightly less armor. I would see if I could get the 2pl instead of the Tam. It's much better to play a leo 2 than a Tam. The 105mm is not as effective as the 120. But the big thing is the thermals.
I bought it as a lineup filler. It was much needed and pretty great back then. But after the last year's developments, with two Leopards in the basic tree, M48Super and Tam, it's become obsolete. And as now we got Puma and Bagel, I barely manage to fit one Leo in the lineup (Bagel/LeoL44/Puma/Tam/M48Super/Gepard/G91). So with the current meta, I'd gladly trade it back and get XM1 or TURM III even, if that was an option. Or at least trade it for a much better TAM2IP and get rid of the Leos in the lineup alltogether.

Eh it's main advantages like it's round thermals and mobility have lost there luster. Quite a few tanks are -faster -better round -a proper gun sight zoom -gen 2 or 3 thermals -better reload -cheaper or are at a better br Or a combination of most of that The german tech tree at 8.7 and 9.0 have surpassed this tanks usefulness for the most part

Now the days where there was a major gap between the a1a1 and the 2k it was great... but now it just feels like an overpriced side grade
@@aratay3117 Glad I got it almost 2 years ago, it was quite strong at the time, also against others tier VI premium it's the best MBT imho. The gun it's wonderful, the mobility it's good and the survivability it's just fine (you don't need more than 13 APDSFSs) so for 60 $ absolutely not ( I got it by selling coupons on the Gaijin market when It was in sale) but still a good deal if you can get it without spending a cent

The leopard 1a5 was added in 2020 after they made the lions share of money from the l44. And because there was a gap in brs they would either have half of the teams covered in l44 noobs and I believe the highest br was like 10.0/10.3. So it was a disaster for german winrates
If you can't choose between the Leo and the TAM 2IP, choose TAM hands down. It's incredibly mobile(!!!), is gonna make you a ton of SL because of scouting and has a great gun with a great round. Go get it!
Tam2IP literally doesn't have thermals which is why it sucks ass, which is the second redeeming attribute of the L44. The L44 is a 120mm gun as well compared to the Tam's 105, mostly one shots any tank it meets at 9.0 br.
i like it, But to be honest i bought it together with the g91 r4 to make the german grind faster. Would not buy the leopard again if i didn't need to grind tier 3-6
They must of buffed the engine because i get launched into the air several times making my way through the caps. This is a mainstay grinder and worth getting
say the a1a1 L/44 was a test bed for the gun... is well I guess kinda right, but the Gun was already In service, so not really the best way of phrasing it. What it was, was a test bed on "Could you upgrade the Leo1 with the Leo2 gun?" the answer being Yes, but ultimately its not a wanted upgrade. If they are going to add a new 9.7 premium for the Germans I hope they would add the Leo 2A0.
I have a hard time with this tank, i get recked by everything super fast its hard to compete in modern warthunder with this tank. I also just suck at this game lol.
I would not buy it. The tech tree one is almost the same. But most important is that 9 out of 10 battles you will be uptiered to 10.0 and you have no chance against Abramses. The tank is not that fast, has slow turret rotation and does not have any armor. To be honest, I would go for Turm III or TAM 2IP now.
I agree with pretty much everything except saying you don't have a chance against abrams. You don't need to match their speed to get good positions, and killing an abrams even with a long 88 isn't difficult. If you can beat up an xm-1 the abrams isn't much of step up from that
I don't think that the TURMS is a better buy than the L44. While the TURMS is probably the better tank, the reality is that games with it are infested with other TURMS owners who are one-and-done and seemingly have little high tier experience. 9.7 in general for any nation means the chance of being on a team of majority TURMS. It's a horrible BR now.
I usually agree with your reviews but with this one I don't. How do you say the Leopard L44 has worse mobility than a T72? The T72 has a bad reverse speed, about 3/4 kph. At least with the Leo I can get out from bad situation and of course whoever loads more than 13 shots in the tank is stupid.

Turm 3, because Begleit, Puma, M48 Super, Leo 1A5 is already forming a good lineup at 9.0. Leo L/44 (while having a good 120mm gun) at this BR bracket got powercreeped as hell, doesn't feel fun and reliable again since "everything" have apfsds and thermal too, while some have some armor to defend itself from autocannon, the Leopard L/44 (basically Leo 1) can't resist autocannon even frontally. Turm 3 at 8.0 have a good and unique armaments, also offers a better gameplay experience and have a place to fill a line up together with Marder 1A3, M48GA2, and Gepard. For one, DM13 is not classified as “short rod” and does not in fact do less damage. It’s actually funny because the comments about short rod in this video are completely the opposite of what was said in the T-55amd video. Next, I don’t know how you come to the conclusion that a 19.3 hp/ton tank is sluggish at 9.0 when that’s pretty much average for an mbt. Sluggish is a chieftain, russian tank, m60, etc. Hm what else? Oh the armor values you give are like shots from the heavens with how high you have the camera. On a tank like this it doesn’t matter, but if you want to give good information you should make an effort to use line of sight numbers… Just a trend I’ve noticed. And calling the TAM 2IP worse is honestly a bad take but you can have your opinion.

Probably one of the worst German premiums, this thing is priced at $60, same as the PzBtl123. Why you would get this instead of the PzBtl is beyond me.

It IS very fucking bad. Autocannons can go through the front of the turret. But you don't get the mobility for such a tradeoff.

On a tank like this it doesn’t matter, but if you want to give good information you should make an effort to use line of sight numbers… Just a trend I’ve noticed. And calling the TAM 2IP worse is honestly a bad take but you can have your opinion.
@@cutthroat795 The L/44 IS sluggish. It's not as mobile as a tank that can be frontally penned by autocannons yet claims to be a medium should be like.
Probably one of the worst German premiums, this thing is priced at $60, same as the PzBtl123. Why you would get this instead of the PzBtl is beyond me.
