I really enjoy playing the pokemon tcg nothing is better then a good pokemon card pack opening if the pokemon cards are worth money its even better. getting into a pokemon card battle is also fun. Of course playing the pokemon tcg is my forte! like how to build a pokemon deck and playing the pokemon tcg online is how I spend most of my evenings. Pokemon tcg tournament are also great and if you even need any help on how to play the pokemon tcg then let me know! Dont forget you can also open pokemon tcg pack online too! Ive never got to open packs with leonhart or randolph but hopefully will soon! Not pokemon vgc pokemon vgc online or pokemon tcg world championships. Trevenant & Dusknoir is such a busted card, it just needs/needed a solid engine to be a powerhouse, but it only saw play in a pre-rotation short format, and even then, Gengar & Mimikyu was the real star of that deck.

Well, look no further than Gardevoir ex if you need an engine now! Even at the time you had psychic recharge Malamar so it wasn’t completely lost.
i won my first pokemon tournament playing a zygarde ex deck that i made. fighting fury belt and zygarde having 190 hp made it hard for nightmarch to kill it. I also played against 2 Darkrai decks so that definitely helped😅.

My favorite deck i made back in the SM era was the Hypno with the ability “Goodnight, Babies”, in combination with Snorlax from Fates Collide with the attack “Toss and Turn”. The deck ran amazing with Fairy Energies.

Another extremely solid video Burts! Seriously, I like this style of content, and I like the Pokemon TCG, so it's a perfect match. As for my best homemade deck, I'd have to say making a GLC Colorless deck using Super Fang Raticate, paired with Koga's Trap and Hypotoxic lazer, was quite fun!

I remember when at the release of Unified Minds, there was a very fringe Breloom that could OHKO PikaRom with a single energy if it was asleep. In my first league challenge, I played this Breloom with Mareep from LOT that could cause instant sleep when active. A very simple deck, but the more simple decks are the funnest ones for me.

When Brilliant Stars first came out I made what I called Arceus Boombox, featuring Arceus with Rillaboom. I played Flygon V, Zarude V, G Zapdos V, and Sylveon VMAX as my other attackers. The cool thing about the deck was being able to use Flygon V on consecutive turns. Of course that got less relevant as the meta moved away from VMAXs.
Ohh that sounds pretty fun! Flygon was menace!
As a long time Regis player, I always like making Status Effects decks.
My personal favorite was in the latter part of the Unbroken Bonds era where I would use Koga's Trap, Venomoth (the non-GX one), and Weezing to have constant poison and confusion on the active and taking shots on the bench. No, it wasn't tier-1; but I'll stand by that deck being the biggest combination of fun and frustrating for both myself and my opponent.

i tried to make a fighting electric deck ( raichu gx from battle academy and donphan from silver templase actually worked )

Great video as always! My pet deck was the first deck I ever built, it was an Inteleon vmax with Blastoise vmax in it too. Was lots of fun, big hitting as well as sniping!!

I really love decks like this that break through the meta really hoping that zoro box could have been one of them i built a semi- consistent version when evo skies came out but i am really looking forward to palafin from obsidian flames

Loved the video! I would say my favorite pet deck was Shadow Rider VMAX paired with Whimsicott VStar. It was the first deck I played after a break for 2 years, and I ended up getting second at my first tournament with it.

I have a Turbo Lost Zone Regidrago list I've come up with myself - it's possible to burn out of resources with it but if you can speed towards turn 2 Mirage Gates or Dragonite, you're usually in business.

Honestly, I was just putting whatever strong looking card into a deck back in XY and ended up with a Water/Grass deck with Mega Blastoise, Seperior EX and Pidgeot EX. Had an absolute blast

Hey Burts, loved the video! Just got into Pokémon TCG and stumbled upon your channel to learn the basics, and I’ve been enjoying your out of the box content so much! Love that you strayed away from the meta from time to time and analysed ways other ways for cards to shine.
Got gifted my first ever pack of Pokémon cards (even did a pack opening video on my channel), so I don’t currently have a pet deck to share with you now, but maybe sometime down the line when I have my own deck!

Back in around 2014 I made a Wailord ex stall deck that aimed to win by people choosing not to play against it and walking. Wasn't competitive at all but I played it at the UK nationals (I think 2014?) and stalled out 0-0-7, earning it the name of the James Bond Wailord. (Agent Wailord). It was a one-tournament only vibe but I've started playing GLC recently and some people in the UK still remember it haha

Favorite pet deck is Baby Blowns. I had been using it when it first released in Unbroken Bonds and then was really happy to see it eventually surpass old Blown as the premier clown cake pop alien thingy deck

Back when tapu koko gx came out, I liked his ability that it promotes it self kinda like zoroark's stand in ability. I combine Koko with Hypno's Good Night babys ability and surprisingly had Good synergy and consistency.

Rolled with an awkward but fun Boltund VMAX deck at some locals when I first started playing since those were some of the only cards I had. Never won much but I had a blast playing it!

I remember playing Raikou Eelektrik in Expanded at one point, I used a code card from a theme deck I got when I was a kid, and filled the rest of my deck with whatever cards I had in PTCGO. Fun times

My original favorite deck was ZoroBox which still holds a place in my heart, but I really love Arceus/Zeraora VSTAR which I came up with a month ago. Since then, LittleDarkFury made a video about it, which was super cool making a deck that a content creator used in a video after I had thought of it. Thanks for the great content, as always!

My first deck like this kinda style was a crobat vmax with altaria. at the time most of the people at my locals didn't play boss meaning crobat could attack then go into altaria and lock them!
i'm also having a lot of fun coming up with some spicy palafin (OBF) ideas to have a fun single prize deck!

My favorite pet deck was Lucario & Melmetal with a combo Welder strategy. The idea was power it up with Welder and Fire Energy for a fast T1 Metal Wall GX. I thought it was cool and inventive.

I made a Arceus VStar Rayquaza VMax Flaaffy deck and played it towards the last couple sets of Sword and Shield. I teched in the Jolteon with Memory Capsule for no water abilities as well as Flying Pikachu so that basic Pokémon wouldn’t hurt me. Finally, I would have Arceus VStar to search for any two cards and Rayquaza VMax would hit for insane amount of damage. It’s fair to say I got 1st place and top 4 at my locals a couple of times because of this deck. I love Rayquaza 🙏

New to the game, love the content. Since I am new I have no pet decks, just have been jamming Chien-Pao! Came from MTG, mainly the modern format, and love the gameplay and options in Pokemon so much more. Feeling like you use your whole deck to win is awesome, MTG just feels like if you don't draw your sideboard cards in game 2/3 you insta lose. Pokemon feels far from that, so many search effects that help you craft the game and make it fun!

when fusion strike was first released I was very excited to play with the triple style deoxys, so I built many decks with it; my favorite one was the rapid strike variant.
Aha deoxys is a VERY fun card!
My favourite deck that I made was dialga vstar that used genesect v from fusion strike to draw cards in swsh sit format.

Back in the sun and moon days I made a togedemaru deck (from sun and moon base) that did 3o damage for each lightning energy discarded. I paired it with both elektrik from the black and white era for dynamotor acceleration and magnezone form forbidden light to accelerate energys from the hand. I also played the victini card from the black and white era that let me reflip coins so I could use it's defense curl attack (flip coin if head it's immune to damage for the next turn) and stall while I got my engine set up. Was a very niche deck that I could've never played at a tournament but it was the first true deck with a strategy that I built from cards lying in my house and I'm proud of it.

I did not see the trevnoir / calyrex Vmax you explained in this video once 😂 I rather saw a good amount of plat of it with unb mismagius, beast ring and tag switch to attack second turn, or even first if you drew all you needed.
For my pet deck, I had a lot of fun playing Cramorant Vmax/Porygon-Z. It was such a meme, flipping 10 coins every game. Playing it was such a blast every time lol
Shadow rider trvnoir was tier s back in the lock down days! I never saw the tag switch version! Sounds clunky tho ;p PZ was goated!
Last rotation (pre LOR) I played Arc Umbreon/Gengar on the ladder. I really didn't like Mew if you couldn't guess.
I failed to preserve the decklist through migration into SVI and wish I did. It wasn't the strongest deck, but I enjoyed that deck so much.

My favorite “pet deck” that was 100% an already established deck was Shedinja Stall with Oranguru UPR. I recall refining the list to near perfection and it was the first and only time I ever max rarity’d a deck

I made a Samurott and Blastoise deck. I play friendlies, with a group of friends and we don’t feel like staying super meta so we banned all tag teams, ex, Vstar, gx, etc. this combo was so good we had to allow those cards for other deck otherwise it was nearly unbeatable

My favorite pet deck I made in unlimited was Rainbow Road Xerneas from Breakthrough combo'd with Kecleon from Rising Rivals. I came up with the idea on my own at the age of 13, only to later find it online. I thought I was the smartest person ever at wrecking all my friends at league 😅

It's not legal anymore, but i really liked having CorsolaV, (, maybe it was Cursola), arctozolt, and Old Cemetery. It was hard to pull off, but if someone played a single energy from their hand with all the if those active, they would take 70 damage per energy. With an added rocky helmet along with qwilfish... It was fun seeing then knock themselves out

My favourite deck i built myself was a garchomp (ultra prism) zoroark gx deck, it wasnt super consistent because i couldn't afford tapu lele gx or anything so i just ran it with what i could get from packs id get from pocket money and it ended up working surprisingly well

My favourite was slowduck. I made it when I was first starting out and I didn’t know what was good (apart from mewmew obviously) and I just liked the name of the attack. Turns out itd be my favourite deck I’ve ever built and whenever I need a bit of fun, me and my friends return to the ultra prism-cosmic eclipse format and I always play slowduck. It’s just too fun!

While I’m bending the rules here on what is considered a pet deck (I didn’t make it lol) I played mad party into the ground, I was even attempting to make it work in silver tempest format! Needless to say I enjoy the new United wings but it doesn’t give me the same feeling as my tiny wonderland creatures 😅 great video as always shai!

My favorite deck I made was probably my Toxtricity VMAX Deck I played to a few online events. I used Boltund V to power it up and Garbodor to poison. I liked it because I could OHKO PikaRom in one hit without needing to grab an electropower.

I'm extremely new to pokemon TCG, but I'd have to say the Arcanine EX that is a part of the starter decks in the online just made me fall in love with it, I did technically build a Arcanine deck by myself but it was mostly moving around quantities to my pleasing(like having 4 basins, 2 charizards)

When Lost Origin released, I got my hands on a 0 energy hisuian arcanine deck, and its been my go-to meme deck since. I even went 4-1 with it at locals once (placed 4th due to resistance sadly). Funnily enough, the first time I brought it to a local event, I ran into the mirror match!
I know its nowhere near being the best deck in a format full of Sableye and Gren, but GOD its super satisfying dumping your hand and getting a KO for 0 energy.

With Paldea Evolved, I made a Skeledirge deck that utilizes the Slowbro's ability that moves damage counters. I put 2 Emergency Jelly toolcards and Radiant Tsareena. Not top tier by any means, but the healing combos are neat and it works pretty good most of the time.

I think an interesting pet deck me and my little sister cooked up was zacian v and shining arcana gardy around the fusion strike timeframe. Granted, it wasn’t the most competitive but it was the first deck that we’d come up since we first got into playing the tcg. Nowadays you see them being used in tandem with gardy ex which is a funny sight about a year or so later

Mega Tyranitar turbo with the Ancient Origins Volcarona. I never got to build it in paper but I had 21 wins and 6 losses with it online before I went on hiatus from PTCG.

I've always been a fan of Coin Flip decks. This past Season I took Wailord V To a Regionals with Frosmoth to accelerate energy and Glimwood tangle to Reflip.
I could hit 360 and KO anything or hit 0 lol.

Really fun deck that I have kind of like tried and played for fun with friend was basic Zoroarks from Lost Origin with the Doom Curse attack for free something really not viable when playing seriously but it was so much fun to play on partys with friends.

Double Palkia. On Expanded, playing Palkia VSTAR and Palkia GX. Sometimes, 2 extra turns to end the game, with a lot of Metal Pokémon support. Was not the best deck, but pretty fun.

My favorite pet deck was Urshifu inteleon radiant charizard in the post 2022 worlds format. No one was playing it (besides tord probably) and I came up with my own list and it could do a lot of amazing combos and execute powerful strategies. Unfortunately due to the lack of efficient dark type attacks I was too scared to take it to any irl tournaments with almost no game plan into mew. However it still took me 5-0-1 into a top 8 of an online tournament and was very fun to play.

My favorite pet deck has to be Jirachi Fossils. Me and my friends made our list super late at night coming back home from a local on the train. A deck who's only attack was dependent on coin flips was hilarious to us

I made a Galarian Perrserker V deck and played it at a tournament, got swept but the deck is really fun to play because of the potential high damage output when you have so many cards in your hand. Everyone I faced or saw my match respected me as a non-meta player

my favorite deck that I made myself is my mimikyu deck. I use mimikyu VMAX, worst gift mimikyu (does 10 damage for each damage counter on all of my opponent's pokemon), and mimikyu from paldea evolved. I use buddy catch gallade to get acerola's premonition and since I already have ralts and kirlia, I use Gardevoir ex and zacian V as backup. I also recently added bannete ex for item lock to increase the draw from acerola and disrupt my opponent
Gallade acerola is a pretty cool combo!
My favorite "pet" deck was a budget deck I built based around the Lost Thunder Shedinja and Ninjask a few years ago. Thanks to Ninjask's "Molting" ability, you could place a Shedinja on your bench as if it was a basic Pokémon. Then, using Shedinja's "Vessel of Life" ability, you could attach the Shedinja to your Ninjask (as if it was an Item card) to deny your opponent from drawing any prize cards. To cap it off, Ninjask could do up to 80 damage for just one energy and "Victory Star" Victini could increase consistency. With how fast this deck got rolling it was great for attacking early game basics that haven't had the chance to evolve into a GX yet.
The deck has its flaws but I took it to a local tournament while it was legal and preformed pretty well! I don't think many other people were using the combo so I also had the element of surprise to back me up.
I remember that card! Was brutal!
My favorite pet deck at the moment would have to be Rayquaza Arceus. Rayquaza is my favorite pokemon, so I like using it whenever I can, and it's nice that it fits into a decent enough deck!

@@BurtsPTCG that’s right. It uses arceus to ramp energy onto Ray VMax, and Armarouge and Molten Arena can recur discarded fire energy back on to Ray after it attacks. Ray Vmax can hit extremely hard, but its a lot of moving parts compared to something like Arc Tina. Still good enough to get some wins 😁

One of my favorite decks I built was Magcargo GX with the ability crushing charge. Oranguru and Welder with draw power and energy acceleration helped tie the deck together, Magcargo GX will always be one of my favorites.

Before i started watching pokemon youtubers my favorite deck was reshi/char with welder and magcargo with smooth over and late game attacker was alteria with bent spoon. Had so many rage quits with that one.

My favorite deck is easily Zeraora deck. I use miraidon to setup. Alternatively, Vulpix Vstar was a deck I started using almost as soon as chien pao came out, and its been my second favorite since. It also works super well against Gardi ;) Even if it has flaws.
Zeraora is underrated!
Mine was Dark-Fire mashup at release of Flash Fire. Using Victini EX to accelerate Fire Energy onto Pyroar from the same set, as well as to Outrage Reshiram as a backup attacker. The Dark part was in the form of baby Yveltal using Oblivion Wing to attach Darkness Energy to my mons in order to take advantage of Darkrai EX Dark Cloak ability in order to pivot between attackers. Cards like Muscle Band, Blacksmith, Lysandre and VS Seeker ironed out a lot of the deck's issues and this wonderful pile somehow won me a couple League tournaments back when I got into the TCG.

My favourite creation of mine was definitely my Inteleon/Donphan/Zebstrika list. Donphan counters Arc decks, Zebstrika for Palkia and also had 2 Moltres for the Mew matchup

i dont play pokemon tcg, i only played the ptcgo (rip) and ptgl. one of the first deck i did was a deck with greninja and gengar (dont remember from what set) that uses their abilities to posion and low health of enemy benched pokemon. was memy and incosistent. Fun memories

made a deck with radiant heatran and 5 different stadiums because heatran does 70 damage for each damage counter on it so when the deck works, it can do 1050 damage in one attack

I really like the old premonition Gallade + Abyss Hand Octillary from Breakthrough. What a crazy combo! And with strong energy and korrina from FF, it was probably one of the most broken single prize decks at the time

Arceus/Dhelmise VMAX was the deck that took me to top 32 in the Team Challenge Season 3, it was one of the few cards that could ohko a vstar in the Swsh/Astral radiance from at, before tina in Lost Origin, it need the help of galarian zigzagoon, but was very untested in the meta!

my favorite deck i ever played was an Archies ace deck with empoleon from breakthrough (ability that let basic pokemon do +20 damage) and attacking with Seismetoad EX. Turn 1 70 damage and item lock if you go second. i built it to hit multiple archie a game and regularly hit 90 or 110 with item lock due to having 3-4 empoleon in play. this was during a time most lists were 40+% item cards as battle compressor made running 4 vs seeker and low supporter counts much more consistent.

One of my coolest decks i believe i played was shedinja control. I played it in a format where i lost to adp if i didnt set up latios gx attack turn 1 or 2 and i somehow made it work by getting 3/16 in an online tournament going 4/1. I found an old list from worlds and edited it alot so it fit the current format because belebra and surge were legal

I don't play competitive much outside of tcg live but I'd like to start. I made a mymiku and ceruledge deck to combat the relient on ex and v decks that top the meta. Ive had mostly success on tcgl but if they have more single prizers it becomes harder to win. but not impossible. I also use the bibarel engine and hisuian zoroark

Me favourite “pet deck” iz Kyogre & Groudon from the Celebrations set. It wuz heaps fun to play online and at me local game shops 🎉

Maybe not my favorite of all time. But I am currently building my own palafin deck with some new cards from obsidian flames. The deck is very fun to play although not super competitive.

I ran mega latios at nats 2016 :) it would snipe shaymin ex every turn and then target whistle, KOing 3 shaymins. It also went pretty well into night march, donking joktiks and pumpkaboos. I really wish it did better than it did lol, but still my favorite pet deck. Me and a friend both ran it, and we ran into 0 mega rays, 0 night march, and just around 0 shaymin ex. We both hit two wailord players though 😭
That is banter! Mega latis were a crazy shaymin killer!
my favourite deck i made would have to be the first deck i ever built; rayquaza ex with emboar way back in the day. built it because ray ex full art was the first ultra rare i ever pulled as a kid. still have it to this day!

I've been having lots of fun playing Lost Zone Noivern ex. It's not that good, but when it works, it's so fun!
Noivern has so much potential!
i've made a Spidops EX, Hisuian Liligant Vstar deck which is extremly fun to plan, kinda reliable and got me some wins at a semi big tournament.
Oh nice! Lilligant is underrated!

I made a homebrew version of Meetwo Vstar with the rocks engine, it completely crumbled after rotation though ;(

My soon to be pet deck is going to be Rayquaza Vmax with the new charizard ex. I think charizard is gonna give the deck some burst potential that its never had. It’ll probably end up being clunky (as all rayquaza decks are) but I’ve got to see if it’ll finally make rayquaza viable

@@BurtsPTCGjust started testing the deck and tried using the Pokémon go charizard with it. Burn brightly says that each basic fire counts for two yet when it’s attached to rayquaza Vmax it only counts them as one? Am I misinterpreting the card or is this something that should be working? 🤔
my favorite pet deck was what i called stage2.deck. it revolved around meganium from lost thunder to create an army of stage 2 pokemon, draw a bunch of cards and then force the opponet to deck out. it was not very good but it was my deck,

My “pet deck” here is a Lucario Hisuian Arcanine V deck, with the goal of the deck to get out 2 Lucarios, then accelerate energy with Roaring Resolve and with Galarian Zapdos or Gutsy Pickaxe. Then, I’d move all the energies onto Hisuian Arcanine V with its ability, allowing it to do big damage and tank hits with the help of Bravery Charm and Lake Acuity, the next turn, I’d just put on other one on bench, move the enrgies with its ability, and then use Penny to bounce it. I originally brainstormed some ideas with it, but couldn’t really make it consistent, but I got the idea to run Penny and more copies of Lucario from a video, allowing me to fully maximize it. It’s still pretty bad, but I love the deck.
That Arcanine was so tanky!

@@BurtsPTCG usually pretty good. Only Pokemon are the rooms and one Miridon (for the ability if needed). Zineas Resolve and Research are my draws. Single strike tools with the tower to help ditch items and draw too.

Favorite pet deck would have to be Luxray Inteleon - did great into ARC decks and hit Palkia for weakness when that was running rampant

@@BurtsPTCG 2-1 split of BRS luxury and the Rapid strike one. BRS really helped with Arc/Dura with them overloading energy (6+) and the Rapid Strike one was always hitting bonus damage with quick shooting/Zig ping
Also sobbles keep calling would search out benched shinx as they were rapid strike as well - so who needed VIP

the best surprise deck/card for me will always be Green's Blacephalon, from me getting 2 good placements with it without anyone knowing what it did to everyone playing it suddenly afterwards

my favorite deck has to be a kingler VMAX and arceus VSTAR deck. I always get down kingler and arceus both full with energy by the end of second turn.

My favorite pet deck has to be my alolan ninetales/zoroark gx deck. Wasn’t ever too consistent but I still had fun with it
