Get you the Abbree 771, it´s cheaper than a double Hamburger at McDonalds and ist perfectly trimmed for the 70cm and 2m bands. Especially good on about 450 MHz, so perfect for the PMR frequencies :) Some stock Beofung antennas reflect more than 70% from your output watts back to your handheld and may damage your radio with heat if you transmit too long. If it should be a bit better quality, get the Retevis RH 771 for about 4$. But in terms of usability they are the same. The Retevis one weights a bit more and the antenna it self is a bit thicker. But both are especially good and will double your range in many cases. Also remember that about 95% of all antennas on amazon aren´t working as advertised because they are fake or at least very bad build. Just a few models are realy usable. From 20 different foldable antennas from amazon, only 2 worked as advertised on the 2m and 70cm band. Every Nagoya from amazon was bad. Only the Radioddity and Retevis antennas from amazon worked all the time. It seems there are no radioddity and Retevis fake antennas out there and the Abbree 771 doesn´t get counterfeit because the original is extreme cheap.
Somethings not right. I easily get 3 miles at those frequencies. I hope you work it out. Thanks for the views.
You can´t allways get the 3 miles. It depends on the terrain. Try to reach someone in the 20th floor, while you are in the first floor. That are about 300 yards and you can´t get the connection. He has done nothing wrong. You are just on another part of the earth, Just change your location and maybe you will get 100 Miles, from top of a mountain to a top of a other mountain. Or maybe you won´t get half a mile because of listet things :)
