I found an instrumental track and a lyric video and then spliced them together using a video editor. I don't remember whether I used Vidiot or KdenLive, but you can use Shotcut, Olive, DaVinci Resolve, Premier, whatever. I just deleted the video track from the instrumental and the audio track from the lyric video, and hit export.

He used Alex Rudinger's drum play through track that has no vocals.. I think that's the answer you were actually looking for
