    I enjoyed seeing so many clothes! The little felted fox was charming, as well as the hats. Nothing is cuter than Blythe in a hat.

    Hi Beth, I watched this video again for learning and entertainment purposes while recuperating and you asked us what we would like for you to do next that we might be interested in. I have been into Marie Antoinette gowns and her hair style. I wondered if you might like to try something like that when you don't have too much to do. I think the gown is very similar to the Colonial style gowns from 1776. The French gowns were just puffed out more on the hips and had those cages underneath to make the waist appear smaller. I never tire of your talents and ideas. Thank you for being you!

      Thanks so much Elaine! That is a wonderful idea! I loved learning about historical fashion and dressmaking techniques at art school, and would definitely enjoy recreating some of those extravagant dresses in miniature!!

    Beth You are such a wonderful person and sweet and beautiful and you have very special talents which we all thoroughly enjoy. Your daughter Evie is so lucky to have a mother like you. She looks so much like you. I love your accent and your love of Tartans and the way you challenge yourself to do more difficult procedures for doll making items. You are so precise with your instructions and I feel you are very easy to understand. I hope one day you do Romeo and Juliet themed gown for Blythe dolls. I love English and Italian Renaissance gowns. I prefer historical clothing over Modern, mostly. I love all your videos and enjoy when you put more onto You tube. You are such a blessing to all of us.

    Hiya Beth ,
    Thanks for the great videos .
    I was just wondering on the tattoo transfer if when you pull at the fabric will it split the picture , I’ve had other doll clothes with picture transfers that the pictures have spilt ,
    I’ve used temp tattoos on fabrics before for projects but they have split to , but the fabric was a heavier kind so maybe that made a difference . So just wondering if you found that issue with this , and on the lighter fabric or if it was ok .
    I hope it makes senses what I’m trying to say !? Thanks xx

    • @BethRamsden
      @BethRamsden  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi! Thank you very much! If you were to stretch or pull hard enough then yes I imagine the transfer would split, I think you would have to be pretty rough with it for it to happen though. If you’re worried this could happen then I would make sure to use them on clothes patterns with an open back (with Velcro or snap fastenings?) So there’s no need to stretch/pull clothes up the body. I just bought some thicker iron on transfers that look like they’ll be excellent on dark fabrics, so hopefully they’ll work as well and you’ll see them in an upcoming video 😉 I do hope that helps!

    Do you sew everything by hand?

    • @BethRamsden
      @BethRamsden  Před 4 lety +3

      Hi! Not at all! For some fabrics types/weights it's easier for me to hand sew, because my regular sewing machine loves to eat the seam allowance and it drives me nuts!! Cotton and heavier fabrics are usually fine in the machine though. I do also have an old Singer machine that has a very small hole that the needle goes into, which never eats up my seam allowance, so it's really good for miniature sewing! Thank you for watching ^_^

    Where do you get your patterns from

    • @BethRamsden
      @BethRamsden  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi! I prefer to draft my own patterns, I'll sketch out the finished design, then figure out how to break it apart into a pattern. I will often look for a full scale dressmaking pattern in the same style as I'm trying to achieve, then attempt to miniaturise it. I take measurements from my doll and transfer them to the shapes from the dressmaking pattern. Otherwise I do see a lot of free patterns on Pinterest, and you can find a lot through Google image searches too! Hope that helps, thanks for watching! ^_^
