Sometimes there are no words . . . and this definitely one of those moments!!!!
    Totally herself. Totally transparent.
She just shared her life. I will go back & listen again& again. She is so right. Just live your life. You can not FORCE people to eat this way. Yesterday I listened to her husband. Again, there are no words.
Tears came to my eyes as he talked about his wife . . . Both interviews are the BEST I have watched EVER!!!!!

You can't force people to eat this way, but why did she have to cook the dead bodies of the animals she loved for her husband? Why could he not cook for himself? What is this but disrespect for her ethics, to continue to receive meals from her that he knows she is ethically opposed to?

I am 69 and have been vegan now over 10 years. I also take no medication. We have changed to Morton’s Lite Salt as my husband loves the salt shaker but he takes blood pressure pills and I go along with this for his sake.
We went to an Italian restaurant and I they had a vegan pizza, and ordered this. It was much more than I could eat. So we took it home. We get an Italian sausage by Fieldroast and it is very good, so I put some Prego spaghetti sauce on the pizza and garlic salt and cooked the sausage on the top and added a little vegan mozzarella cheese and wow, never had a better pizza in my life and my husband felt the same.
We decided we can get that basic pizza and then add some things to it occasionally as it was just that good.
To stay vegan one has to make sure it is enjoyable and delicious which I was doing anyway to keep my family happy when I cooked meats and chicken.
But I feel so much better, as I had been in a wheelchair with arthritis. Now I generally walk 4 miles a day and I feel really good. My husband has not done one bit of research. He had prostate cancer and I told him, to keep cancer from coming back, you have to eat more wisely. He conceded. Now he says he would not change for the world. I hope so.
We had to take care of my parents who ate themselves into ill health. It was a burden to me as I had small children at the time. Now I am a grandmother and I do not want nor does my husband want to do to our son and daughter-in-law what my parents did in ignorance. We want to be a benefit and to share family joys, not to usurp anyone else’s lives with concern for our health.
There is coming more vegan products. Some are made to be equivalent to meat in protein and fat. We don’t use these as they would likely make us as sick as we were before. One has to be a label reader. And cannot be ignorant.

She didn't know what I was talking about so I told her to look at 42:30 and tell me. She tried but I had already scheduled it so it was private. I didn't get her text that it was inaccessable until late so I made it unlisted again and she didn't get back. Then I forgot to change it back to scheduled for 2pm. Mrs. Tahir, You are doing good by eating fruits instead of drinking the smoothie. While chewing fruits, we get lots of good bacteria from our mouth, which helps grow good bacteria in the gut.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  Před 2 lety +4

Blending some things may make nutrients more available. Bacteria in the colon benefit from insoluble fibers that make it there. So perhaps you mean those may be destroyed by the force of the blender, in theory. But those foods with insoluble fibers aren't usually what people put in the blender, like beans, vegetables... However, chewing elicits bacteria in the mouth to convert dietary nitrates to nitric oxide in the mouth which is important for vascular health and the immune system...

I enjoyed this interview so much until the ninth minute when she said she cooked meat for her husband because she didn't want to force her diet on anyone else. Why not just let him cook his own meals, in that case? How could she continue to cook the dead bodies of those animals, knowing what they went through, and loving animals? I'm Indian myself, and I believe the root of this is women's socialisation in Indian culture that they think they have to cook for their husbands and cater to their preferences. When my mother was sick with a brain tumour, the cousins and aunts who lived nearby visited us and I cooked for them. I asked them to wash their own plates in the sink. The men dumped the plates and my aunt washed up after them. It's such a disappointing attitude. It is self-disrespect and brainwashing to think we are inferior. Women should NOT drop their ethics for the pleasure of their husbands.
Aunty, you say that ignorance is not an excuse but that you can forgive people who continue to eat meat when they are ignorant. But you weren't ignorant at the time you were preparing their dead bodies for your husband. I wish you could open your eyes to the sexism that you were brainwashed with, that you felt you had to prepare the dead bodies of those you loved for a man you were married to - open your eyes for the sake of your grandchildren. The next generation of women need to stand up for themselves and for the ones they love (non-human animals).
"We all like our independence" - How is it independence when a man depends on a woman to cook for him? Especially when he's making her cook something she is morally opposed to?! And I do not understand that it is a person's "freedom of choice" to consume animals. Certainly paying for the abuse, torture and murder of somebody else whether human or non-human is a choice, but it is not a valid choice. You wouldn't say it's a person's freedom of choice to abuse other humans, so it is not freedom of choice to abuse animals either. It stops being a personal choice when there's a victim involved.

Unfortunately chocolate ( including the highest quality cacao, nibs, etc) is now known to have high levels of lead. I wish this wasn’t true, but the best science to date says that it is.

I looked into this recently and found that some brands aren't as bad as others. A concerned parent who was putting cocoa in her children's smoothies and what not daily had her children tested and there was no evidence of them consuming lead. But, you're right, we do need to be careful, but that goes with a lot of things.

I am born vegetarian. I have hard time to be vegan. I dont care for cheese, butter and ice cream. I stoped drinking milk. But i need milk in my indian tea or coffee. Now my wife has forced me from 2% milk to 1% milk. My father in law has became vegan last 4 years. He does not drink tea or coffe. So its easy for him. Please advise

@You scared? i came to us from india when i was 16 year old. In india my mon never let me touch tea or coffe. Even us did not touch cofee or tea till i was 47. My mother in law stays with us. Typical indian lady has to have her tea two times a day. That ginger tea smell so good. From trying a sip. Get hooked on. Now she has cut down the tea. I am hooked on tea.

Plant based milks such as soy milk, cashew milk, almond milk, walnut milk instead of animal milk. You can buy them or make them in a vitamix raw. Only exception is soy milk must be cooked. I cook my soy milk in the instant pot.
