- Recorded from original first generation OFC videotape. I just discovered I have some software and equipment that works together to convert videotape - so this is for MoodyJill, who was looking for a better copy of this video! Please check out our comprehensive index of Moody Blues videos from all over the Internet at the Moody Blues Attitude site here:

I just LOVE John Lodge! This whole video just makes me smile! What a great song by John.
He's very easy on the eyes!!!
He’s so adorable. Love that smile. He has such a nice voice. I’ll also say he is an amazing Bass player as well. ❤️
Still love this video after all these years!
🎈🎶🎸
What a great song, John! So handsome!!
Thank you Taranberk for "Street Cafe." I adore John Lodge.
I love john Lodge music ...
I just saw John Lodge perform on the first night of his first ever solo tour three nights ago and he was fantastic! His voice is better than ever. The audience gave him and his 10,000 Light Years Band a wonderful reception. And got to meet him and he posed for a photo with his arm around me. He still is handsome and exudes charisma!
lucky.you!!!!!
Did he do anything from this album ?
John Lodge, the hottest old guy in music!
I love John Lodge. He’s a good singer and songwriter and I agree that he is very handsome. That smile of his is fantastic.
love him love the song and if he sat next me all close like that on the bench I would think I died and went to heaven!! Just saw the Moodies twice last Month and he is still soooooooooo gorgeous! Love me some Lodgey xx
I agree with you. I just saw the Moody Blues live for the first time this week and I now I'm totally in love with John Lodge. He's definitely still got it.
Agreed! John was so sexy and charismatic, and all without even trying. His wife is the luckiest woman on the planet to have had him all these years!
...think I've just witnessed my role model lol...John Lodge - the man of charisma.
Love his voice. He has an easy sexy way about him.
He speaks with his eyes. Beautiful smile.
"LOVE, LOVE, LOVE STREET CAFE"!!!.👍👍👍😘😍❤❤❤💙💙💙🎸🎤🎼🎵🎶

@@hobbygamer6220 Late 1980
@@woodbee333 I mean what moment do you appear ?
@@hobbygamer6220 About 20 seconds in. My brother in law and I are sitting at a table having cigarettes.
Fabulous VIDEO.... big smiles and an instant John Lodge fan after seeing this gem! THANK YOU!!!
To Pia: I adore me some John Lodge too.
Such a great song, it captured me first time around and now I can't stop listening. Thank you!
Always loved this song and video.
Great song and video. Thank you for sharing.
Ah...remembering the days when MTV actually played this video...and all Moodies videos...those were good days, right?
Had the single of this many years ago, don't know why it was never a hit. This is the first time I've seen the video.
Probably cause it came out in the midst of punk, got a bit lost in the mix
Lack of airplay.
@@zachblakemore3567 So did many others (UK radio pre-2010s was the hotbed of variety) but the Moody Blues and their solo efforts (other than Justin Hayward's Forever Autumn because it wasn't actually his song and, even then, wasn't exactly on heavy rotation) always went rarely played.
this is my first time viewing this song - 12/24/19
Hearing it ?
I LOVE this song! So fun and catchy!
@MoodyJill Glad you like it Jill. Since the equipment was all set up and ready to go, I made a few more for you. They are uploading right now and should be viewable soon!
Great song indeed.

Great to see this again. I had the old OFC video. Have not watched this in years!
Yes!!!!!then and now
The most smoothest Moody Blue I've ever seen!
I just love this 💕💙💙
Georgous man !
Could he walk any sexier? He looks at you with a hypnotic smile and you just want to throw yourself at him. Um....oh ya
SpectorTippy so true
LOL !!!
Kenny Jones whistles! He played on this, and on the "Natural Avenue" album.
excellent track
That was interesting to watch!👍👍
Que fofurisse ❤
Lodge is king. That is all.
Is that his mum and dad and friends in the video? Cute...looks like a fun place to shop too...
This man is so damn smooth and so hot. Easily my favorite of the Moodies.
I love John too! While I adore all the original Moodies, John has always been my favortie. In his prime years, this man was beyond hawt!! :)
Busy Bee I agree with you. John always made my heart flutter. ❤
I’m a big John Lodge fan too, he always seems happy- great smile 🔥
John a la Roxy Music
What fun!
1980---he was still a young guy. Moodies had already gotten back together minus mike pinder...so a side project you could say.
ENGLEBURT should record this
Looks AND sing like Ben Orr (The Cars)
Why wont they make a new album ?
Justin and John have been playing with their own groups for quite some time now. John is touring with his Ten Thousand light-years band and released a new album less than a year ago. Justin is touring with his small band and is still composing music. As you know, Ray Thomas passed away last January and Graeme Edge is retired and living in the United States. He had some health issues and he'll probably never play with the group as the Moody's again.
@@SpectorTippy Ray had left and they kept going as the Moody Blues. he should continue to play drums and write at least 2 songs an album like they did originally even if he doesnt quite tour. Mike should come back and contribute and produce. temporarily Justin and John should form the Blue Jays and compile #3 ( Sur La Mer was #2 ) while they work on getting back into the studio.
what health problems is Graeme having ? thank you !
@@hobbygamer6220. Graeme had a stroke and has a difficult time playing the drums. John had his own idea for reinventing his music and that's why he's touring with his own band. They came together last year in Las Vegas for almost a week and played as the Moody's. I honestly don't think we'll ever see that again.
@@SpectorTippy too bad I didnt hear about that reunion. I'm EXTREMELY sorry that that happened ! he should still WRITE for the band though ! I love my philosophy: never retire, NEVER stop being creative ! not work ( in th simplest sense of the word ), but being creative ! thanks a lot !
John was in his mid-thirties in this clip right? ♥
Follow the Balloons
Okay....I have a question. I know the drummer, Kenney Jones, played the drums whistled and carried the balloons, but who is the violinist?
Graham Preskitt
Relistening, it sounds like he's trying to do Roxy Music!
anyone know do the public red telephone booths exist.tnere are no more in the states due to cell phones.
Those red telephone booths originated in England where this was filmed. The US didn't have these.
@@SpectorTippy they are very cool
There are still some red phone booths and some later yellow phone booths. The few yellow ones are the ones still housing telephones and the red ones, other than in tourist areas, now house defibrillators, community libraries (look that quaint recent thing up!) and other such uses.
anyone know exactly where tis was filmed england for sure but is it in Birmingam
Hi Sue, I read somewhere it was filmed in and around Soho, London.
Daniel Day Lewis on fiddle?
haysfordays Graham Preskett on fiddle
@@woodbee333 Composer and musician, Graham Preskett played the violin on the recording but was unavailable for the video recording so John and Kenny's friend, the late great Cozy Powell was called in. He was also a drummer and aswell working with John, he worked with the Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, the Michael Schenker Group, Whitesnake, Emerson, Lake & Powell (rather than Palmer), Black Sabbath, Gary Moore, Robert Plant and Brian May. He died aged 50 on 5 April 1998 when the car he was driving crashed near Bristol. In something that is a rarity for a drummer, he had a solo hit in 1973 with 'Dance with the Devil'. czcams.com/video/NO_fx1WshCA/video.html
Is that Kenny Jones with the balloons?
yes its kenny he is a friend of johns
Look at the reflection in some of the shop windows and you can Kenny and the balloons running by, to be in the next shot.
Recognised Kenney Jones but who is the Fiddle player ? I know the face.................
he played on the Hayward Lodge album which came out in 75---album featured "Oh I dreamed last night" plus other great tunes
where are you in the video?
that`s cool, whereabouts might we find you? details... we want details! :-)
