why my same bass sound so dark...and yours is so good? my interface is Focusrite Saffire liquid 56 and Scarlett 1820 3rth gen... in both get a disappoint sound 😔 i don't understand why...i connect my other Harley Benton Mb-5 (stingray style) and is amazing...this ibanez get me crazy 😢
even with new strings (the bass is brand new but i change the strings after that video) is very very dark..i install preamp 3 band eq and no way to take this sound, i hearing amazing sound unplugged with bright string sound...but on amplifier or in any of my professional sound inteface the sound is dark..the pickups don't take the trebles of strings right.im disappointed 😢
Thanks for posting. Are the neck and bridge pickup volume knobs reversed? Looks like turning down bridge is clockwise while turning up neck is also clockwise. (or reverse for mirror image?)
@@timoschmidgall Thanks so much for the quick response. I had ordered one after watching this vid, and when it arrived, the wiring of it seems to be off, so wanted to make sure it was a specific instrument issue, not a model issue.

Maybe your strings are dead?

It is not reversed. Turning up is clockwise and turning down is counter clockwise.
