Call me dumb but I just realized you were in Canada I had a friend that knew some people in Canada and they would go visit and talked about a beautiful house and the carpet was all white and everything was white and you just took your shoes off before entering the house and they never had a problem with keeping their house clean with all that snow and everything there amazing I don't know if I could do that, love the clock ⏰⏰⏰⌚⌚
Men first landed on the moon @4:40 in 1969, not 67. I was 5 and vividly remember this historic event as it happened just a few days after my birthday. Beautiful pearl necklace for a quarter! Even if it wasn't real worth way more than that for sure. 😊
These poor guys didn’t know what they were getting rid of. I wish they could have taken more time to go through this box as it was stuff that could mean something to their family and relatives. Was sad to see the stuff go to random garage salers.😢
Uff da, lavender gives me a headache & scratchy throat.---We had a star lamp similar to that when I was in elementary school...mid-50s! Ours wasn't electric, & the arms all had to be inserted in just the right slots.---Those gorgeous albums...---

Rob, i have an odd question. The lady that had the big lantern projector talked about African americiana slides. Do you say African Canadian vs our African American s? Or just Black? Both of my son-in-law's are A.A. and prefer to be identified as black. When i say you, I mean in your country. Her statement just had me wondering. Lol
Ha I usually just refer to them by name honestly haha but I guess if talking about their culture.... I would use either.. even tho I guess the term 'African American' isn't necessarily accurate here as, according to Google, it refers to African immigrants and descendants who were enslaved in the USA.
Well...the man brought th box out of the house for Rob to look at the bibles. I'm sure he didn't realize the photos were even in there. I was happy that he DIDN'T want to sell his relatives.
Not a bit. Some family members never get to come back to the folks' place very often, so to have those old pictures come out was a chance for that other fella to see them again. Nostalgia. As he said at the end, he's not sure if the grandkids would ever be interested in them, in which case, they just might be offered up for Rob the following year. I know, personally, my 93 y/o Mom has so many photos from the 30s-60s, and me being the oldest, I do know a lot of the people in them, but I can tell you that there's nobody else in the family who knows or cares. I have a niece who might be interested when Mom passes. Two more stories I'll relate...1) When I was waiting for my 2nd grader to get out of class, I read stories by the stories to accompany an old black-n-white photo. This was a lesson in punctuation, and spelling. I later learned from the teacher that a friend had given all those photos of unknown people, as she didn't know them, and thought her teacher friend could use them. She did indeed!---2) My neighbor & I were in an antique shop many years ago & while I was looking through a box of old studio photos, I questioned out loud who'd buy old photos. The clerk on duty that day overheard me & said that there were lots of people who bought them to substitute for family photos that didn't exist for them. How sad.
Love the silver frame . I dont have one yet. I never discuss a good deal like that because the people sometimes try to go back on the sale . I have been dont it for 40 years and i have had people go back on their sale at least a dozen times.
