  • Today Marcus drives a beautiful E92 BMW M3 to see what it's all about. With a 4.0L V8 under the hood that revs over 8,000 RPM and sounds unbelievable, this generation M3 has got to be one of the best sounding cars we've ever driven, not to mention one of the most fun.

    I've had my E92 M3 for 3.5 yrs and still love every time I drive it. The sound and feeling of being at the top of the rev band is legendary!

      How many Kms you got on it? How's the reliability/maintenance been?

    • @goguhu
      @goguhu Před 8 lety

      91k km here ... no issues with it, other than the seat belt buckle keep hitting the brushed aluminium part of the door, and has dinged it up pretty bad. Only issue I have had is the i-drive knob fell off after being in 50C in Death Valley, that broke the glue, and a few months ago the traction control button broke (but it's 95% on ... just fall off if I hit it with my knee or something). Only costly maintenance was new discs in the rear (think it was after 50k or so, but still on the first set of front ones).

      I have the 2008 Sedan version and it has been a great car. I have used it as a daily driver and also stored it in the winter for 3 of the 5 winters I have owned it. Winters are not too bad in Southern Ontario so it presents a good opportunity to drive it year round. I have 150K on it and the only real issue was the throttle control actuators which were costly to replace. I look at it as cost per smile and using that guideline it is very cost effective. LOVE this car.

      I have 2011 with 78k miles, 60k of those put on by myself as the second owner. I daily the car year around as I lived in SC where it doesn't get cold. Besides tires once a year and oil changes every 5k miles the car has been amazing. I'm just now about to replace the stock brakes because of the many mountain road drives. Lots and lots of 93 gas! BPM Stage 2 tune with servotronic changes (LOVE it), Turner test pipes, MRF rear section exhaust, Dinan Carbon Intake, solid aluminum rear subframe bushings and solid delrin diff bushings, UUC Evo 3 shifter with an extended shift know from IND, Swift spec R springs on stock EDC shocks and upsized 255-275 Michelin PSS tires on factory wheels. Driven at any speed the car is a thrill. S65 was BMWs most reliable engine during its production and even still.

      price was reduced to 41k (not firm) , that's 41k Canadian = 31k USD, includes transferable bumper to bumper warranty until 120k kms. I could give it away for 38k Cdn any day but extra couple grand is for the warranty and few small modifications.

      I own both and i like my E92 more however that's only because its supercharged. My F80 M3 is a blast around town with all the torque. Its stage 2 so it feels faster minus the top end that the V8 has. The f80 has so much torque you have to baby it but E92 even supercharged is a lot easier to drive with losing control so in that sense i prefer it.

      I did that. Had a remaped 335i with exhaust mod (minor mods I know) and figured it was a 'thinking man's M3'. Anyway, I ended up getting the M3. And let me tell you that the power delivery, smoothness of the way it piles on the revs and the sound it makes - are NOTHING to do with the 335i. My dream is to own an M one day. But I just want to learn more about cars before I get one. So i wouldn't have to pay those outrageous prices to fix and so I feel more "in touch" with it since I'll be working on it myself

    the only thing that bothered me about the e92 was that it always seemed longer than the older m3s but other than that its amazing

    What exhaust is that? It looks like the stock one except for the tips but definitely doesn't sound stock... Has this got the OEM exhaust mod?

    The intro first 3 shots and I was already subbed. What camera are you using? I know is not the whole story don't get angry, awesome editing BTW.
    On a different note, ticking the box for automatic in this car should be punishable by death.

    The only bad thing is that I can't put "Turbomeister"-decals on it (because its naturally aspirated).
    Check the 2002-hommage-Turbomeister-car. It is f...ing awesome!

    Can you please do a review on Ricky's car from tpb? The one with the missing passenger door? I think it's suppose to create more airflow to fan out all the smoke from his 6 paper joints... Or if you would be so kind we would love a review on Bubbles go kart😛

    I used to have a 2008 E92, best car I've ever owned by a mile and I only had the manual. Video of it on my channel with Meisterschaft GT2 exhaust, it sounds absolutely mental.
