WHO WE ARE
SkyFi Audio is a small startup business specializing in the purchase, reconditioning, and reselling of select high end audio equipment. We only buy equipment that we admire and are passionate about. No mid-fi, no gimmicks, and no junk.
Each piece of equipment is cosmetically restored and fully tested in our well-equipped lab by an engineer with 30+ years of experience in the HiFi world. If it does not meet or exceed the original manufactures specifications, it will not be sold. We are very selective about the equipment we purchase, focusing on mostly analog, high-build quality, American, and European built units.

This shop is amazing, filled with gear and a work space. Very well organized.
I enjoy watching your videos. I live in Copenhagen, Denmark. That is far away from your store but I get inspiration.
Awesome! Thank you! Been meaning to get over to Denmark. Any good Hifi stores there?
If it is rare, SkyFi Audio has it, I love all the gear you have
Thanks mate.
AMC - Weltronics Corporation London/L.A a spin-off NAD, made in same factory and what i've heard an old employer started it, they had many amps that are identical to NAD, for example 3020, and the one you show are very similar to NAD 912 and all NAD 9-series. AMC was popular in the 90's in Europe together with PROTON which also was a spin-off from NAD.
AMC was high current, high wattage for less money, They also had a tube pre CV-1030 and a integrated tube amp 3030 which was on my to buy list in the 90's. Always thought AMC used a bit better parts that NAD and better curcuitboards overall.
Amazing store and amazing videos!
Greetings from Helsinki, Finland
Thanks Johan. I have heard of Proton, they made the little 13" rebranded Phillips TV back in the day right? We will crack it open and see how it compared to the NAD equivalent. Very interesting!
@@SkyFiAudio not sure if they did TV but if the logo was in gold it might be. I know they did home cinema pre and poweramps,
They had two lines like Nad had also, normal and ”monitor” Kind of style.
Most raved amp was the dual mono D1200 with enourmous power… and VU meters. Later on came the scaled down AA-2080 and 2120 (which i owned) and matching pre AP2000.
They were actually decent. And yes from same factory NAD first was built in (but NAD later moved to another taiwan factory since owners wanted to buy them out) instead they started Proton and AMC, atleast thats what i understood. Rotels owner was involved in the beginning aswell. You can see all of these brands are somewhat alike when it comes to big powersupply, high current etc and some kind of class-g design in the bigger machines. Rotel choose the better path and continued using a lot of japanese parts such as Rubycon, Panasonic etc while the other choosing capxon, or JungHai chinese parts…
The best NAD were without a doubt the 2400, 2600, 2700 (made in japan by famous factory)
I own an AMC integrated and a tuner that I purchased from Audio Advisor twenty years ago or so, and they still work very well. One of the dead quietest amps I've ever used.
Daaamn that's a nice collection you guys got there!!
Thanks!
Could you do videos on the cars you have in there? Is that a European Escort RS?
I wish I had more time Paul. So much cool equipment to manage here I barely keep up.
Your shop is fantastic, I am in Oregon, you can count on a visit next time I am in your area!
look forward to it.
Your shop is a masterpiece. I wish I still lived in New Jersey (I grew up in Hillside).
Surely you can make the journey! Hope to see you some day.
@@SkyFiAudioDidn't realize you were in New Jersey, you should add a link to your website in your CZcams "About" page. 👍
Always look forward to your Videos😄
If I ever get to New Jersey I would love to visit!!
You should! Please do. Lots of cool stuff to share with you.
I would love to visit your beautiful store some time.
Please do!
I've got the matching DTC-75 ES DAT deck for that Sony stack.
The tape loading mechanism is an amazing piece of work!
We just found one too, looking forward to completing the Sony stack. Need a tape deck too, what model would you suggest?
@@SkyFiAudio
Sony cassette decks ... out of my wheelhouse.
might have been covered before but would love to hear what your home system is?
Im working on a video on that. I have 3 systems and it's an odd mix so I think folks would find it interesting.
@@SkyFiAudio Been waiting on this video for a while ,that would be awesome. Please explain why you chose your particular pieces and where are you at on your personal journey. Thank you
If occasional comments are any indicator, I see a visually fascinating stack, gear possessing a specific hifi visual aesthetic appeal.
I concur.
I'd love to have the rig I was listening to when I fell in love with pursuing hifi;
Acoustat 2+2, Acoustic Research pre and power amps ...
Flamenco guitar to a 70's teen ... my jaw dropped, dimensionality, detail ... I was floored.
I said "turn it up", the sales guy says "that's it, that's about as loud as those speakers get" ...
I was crushed, what? That's it? All that goodness and no louder?
I plunged in headfirst as to why, and ~50 yrs later here I am.
Another great video and they are never too long .
Glad you like them! Thanks for the feedback on the length.
Love your videos. Thanks
Glad you like them!
L100t JBL nice. My fav when they came out at Crazy Eddie's. Lol
@@rap-soldier2185 crazy Eddie had them for about $850 for the pair in the mid '80s
Wow, $1200 was a lot of dollars back then. I guess thats why the cabinets are so much superior to others that era.
Hello Fernando
Meant to thank you for sharing the contact of Fle…er with regards to the audio cables for the Nagra E. He was so helpful so much appreciated
My pleasure! Did you get a set? They are super nicely made.
Hey Fernando, cool video. California Audio Labs had a highly regarded CD player in the 80's; don't recall the model. I believe those JBLs are designated "Ti" for titanium tweeter, which is gold colored rather than silver.
Thanks for the info! I dont see the gold coloring on the tweeters, they are just L100T. Perhaps a different version?
@@SkyFiAudio yes, I guess it's different. remember the tall triangle-shaped JBLs? They were Ti's. Those T's are quite similar in finish.
I have 30 turntables, several sets of NS-690s and ESS speakers that I would love to move.
You're very welcome Fernando! Love my Fortes!
Right on! Yes Thank You Salvatore! Enjoy the wonderful Fortes!!
Love Vincent tube integrated
This one is a preamp I think. Nicely built. We were a bit surprised the bass and treble knobs were backwards :-).
Hey Fernando….in terms of the Nagra IV-SJ. How does the IV-S compare? I know you advised the SJ is more of a testing machine; it seems like SJ would be better made in that case. But I’m curious. Also is it true that aftermarket 10.5 reel adapter is about 2k? Or is it pretty cheap as you advised in the video. Love love the video btw!
Got a good-looking shop the wrong with it the video was good the video is also very informative.🙂👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I've got to ask,, why can't the McIntosh power conditioner be shipped?
As a dealer we are not allowed to ship current items. Support your local dealer!
@@SkyFiAudio I see,, thanks
Fernando: The LaScala’s are your favorite Klipsch speakers? Have you heard the new Jubilees?
We’ll.. we installed our fist pair a few days ago and I must say that are a total game changer. WOW!
Wonder what type f power supply the Feickert turntable has?
Not sure, should be ready in a few weeks so be on the lookout.
In your opinion, how does the JBL l100t stack up against Martin Logans 60 XTI?
Gee so different. Would be hard to compare.
Never heard of AMC did you turn it around 😂
Someone commented bellow what AMC is.
When u gonna have a sale with prices us regular people can purchase?
We sometimes have a sale if we have too many of anything. Subscribe to our email black to know when, thanks!
No Carver?
Nothing lately. I wouldn't mind playing with a set of those super cool tube mono blocks.
@@SkyFiAudio
The four chassis Silver Seven?
ooh laa laa ...
Hearing about it was like;
"Carver did what?"
At that time Carver was mammoth.
There are a few good cassette decks at a decent price, but it's slim of course for too many reasons.
I'm searching for a pair of Klipsch Forte four speakers
Give us a call Oscar. We can get you a set if your in the USA>.
It's too much for one video. So much beautiful and wonderful equipment. Regards🙂
It really is! thanks sir. Glad you watched it.
"What cassette deck can I get if I only have $1000?" 🙄SkyHighPriceAudio
you can buy 3 on eBay and hope one works.
@@SkyFiAudio Oh, I wouldn't go near ebay. Give me an idea of what sort of cassette deck you'd sell for $1000.
@@SkyFiAudio You might want to look at the Teac C-3 series from the late 1970s/early 1980s. I've got a 40+ year old C-3RX that runs like a champ. Had it serviced a couple of years back and it is running great. The dbx system really helps reduce tape hiss on cassettes.
looks like you bought way too much inventory
haha. It will all be gone in a few months, but yeah, thats a lot of stuff.
Two purchases from these people and two bad experiences. Dishonest.
Could you elaborate please?
