- Test of home made lead bullets, Lee Mold 478-578, Minie balls. 1861 Springfield musket rifle 58 cal. Shooting range 200 yards with American civil war music. A pleasant surplice in the accuracy of shooting.

Good shooting my man. Thanks for sharing.
I guess the first two were bullseye and the third was low. Pretty good for a rifled musket ! I couldn’t tell if the bullets were mini balls or slugs. Is it original or replica? If a replica, which make ?
I did 7 shots 2 hi, 3 low. Last two hit target. This is modern Minie balls from Lee mold 478-578.
@@shootshow438 is the gun original or a replica?
@@wademoore2061 replica
Replica, Armi Sport 1861 Springfield rifle, shoot high. I was shooting one feet low until I get point. 777 2F 50-60gr, Minie Ball Bullet Mold 578-478M
Have you checked velocity for your load of 60 ff triple7?
No. Sorry, next time.
why nobody asks a simple question. it is claimed that a soldier can make 3-4 shots per minutes. Even in ideal conditions on firing range, it takes at least 30 seconds. In real battle - a soldier would be lucky to make 1 shot if that. bullets cannonballs flying around, enemy soldiers or cavalry charges, horrible noices. shrieks of dying and wounded, mud, hands shaking dropping balls and powder... B****T. no 3-4 shots per minute (maybe from trenches, but again under fire doubtful)
Agreed. Anything over 1 per minute is not going to be "aimed fire" certainly.
