I loved this album, I think that "Gogo Bebe" sounds different cause "Onewe" were the ones that made that rock version, Harin´s drums and Kahyun´s guitar doesn´t lie. I think that the dream of every moomoo came true (we all were waiting for this kind of concert version of their songs). However, I was happy to hear the full album with somebody that enjoys it as mumumumuch as I did XD Have a nice week :)

I guess I’m in the minority because I liked Aya from the start, just the way it was. The only thing I’m glad they added was the extended dance break part with those amazing traditional sounding instruments. Hwasa's fire part in the second verse always reminds me of Rihanna.
I feel like the band, orchestra, choir/backup vocals, additional harmonies contributed SO MUCH in making this album shine compared to the original versions. THE BEST lives up to it's name. I do have one song that I think is not as good as the original. Please don't hate me because this is just my personal opinion... AHH OOP. I keep looking for Esna's voice... she wrote & produced this song anyways so I feel like Mamamoo just did a cover. It's still Esna's song (FYI: There's an Ahh Oop version of just herself)
You’re the best caught me off guard. I was surprise with the metal riff at the beginning, I thought Spotify skips to a Megadeth song lol. I love Mamamoo so Mumumumuch
On a lot of these songs they were going for a live session feel including real instruments most of the time. So I'm pretty sure the drums you were impressed with in Paint Me were real. That had to be a double kick drum in Paint Me and Gogobebe. I was lol at the old school gated & compressed drums and the distorted & compressed guitars in Gogobebe - the production was like Van Halen done RBW style. lol
The first difference I noticed in Egotistic is that they used a steel-stringed acoustic guitar during the intro rather than the classical nylon-stringed guitar in the original. There might be a classical in there too - the main guitar part is doubled and there's at least one more guitar track in the intro. I always wished the electric guitar at the end of Egotistic was much louder in the mix and that he had gone for a Carlos Santana vibe to add to the latin goulash. I think he was playing a PRS like Carlos but he just shredded on it in a fairly generic but still exciting way.
You're the Best always had a retro vibe but I didn't expect them to turn it into 70's blues rock meets Huey Lewis & the News. Guitar borrowed from someone like Aerosmith or ZZ Top mixed with the pop songwriting, great vocals and harmonies of Huey plus a full horn section.
It fits the slinky sound and vibe of the song but I'm never a fan of the guitar sound chosen for Words Don't Come Easy. It's either an electric with a piezo pickup or a plugged in electro-acoustic and in either case the sound is almost always flabby to my ears, like the guitar has rubber bands for strings. I thought the piezo sound was fine on Mamamoo's Delilah cover and it worked for Joni Mitchell on her Parker electric guitar but she wasn't trying to make it sound like an acoustic.
I've babbled on long enuf. I'll only add another comment if you have a question or there's something I think you missed. As usual it's nice to listen to MMM with you and get a real musician's reaction and insight on their music. 😂
I like how you know more about the stuff I still need to learn lol. I’m no good on guitar so there’s a lot I don’t know about guitar sounds. Talking music to other musicians is just a treat tbh
@@SinghReacts If I know anything you don't it's only because I'm old. I suck at guitar but I used to be a live sound engineer/roadie and saw a bunch of bands from way before your time whose sound is engraved in my memory.
After watching the rest of your reaction my only other comments are that Hip was the remix version they did at the 2019 MAMA award show, I thought Wind Flower was totally your style on piano, and I think you missed the wind sound in Destiny under Hwasa at the beginning and Wheein at the end. Made it seem like tumbleweeds blowing through the ghost town in the desert where the story took place.
@@SinghReacts Don't know who else to share this with so since we've been chatting you're the lucky victim. About 5 AM I woke from a disturbing dream where Solar had gone on a brief hiatus and came back to announce that MMM was breaking up. Pondered it over coffee and came to the conclusion that what triggered it was the feeling that everything they've done this year has been an extended goodbye. All the new songs have been gifts to moomoos or reflections on their bff bond & their journey together and they've put the finishing touches on their legacy with a career retrospective album and the upcoming documentary film.
Makes me think the only things they have left to do are release an album of their covers on Immortal Songs (with bonus track Gloomy Coincidence from Sugarman) and record an album of covers to pay homage to some of the artists who influenced them. For the latter I'd have them each do a solo song they're associated with: Solar - Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You, Moonbyul - TVXQ medley, Wheein - Yoon Mirae's Baby Bye Bye, Hwasa - Rihanna's Diamonds, some group songs they've done or teased us with: their a cappella version of Sugar Daddy, BTS's Blood Sweat & Tears, 2NE1's I Am the Best, and and a few classics as tributes: Aretha Franklin's Rock Steady, the Pointer Sisters' Yes We Can Can, and for the title track Diana Ross's version of Ain't No Mountain High Enough.
This is what happens when you obsess about a new Mamamoo album for a full day. 🙄

Esna got credits on all songs that she composed on this album like Piano Man, Peppermint Chocolate, Don't Be Happy, Ahh Oop and Words Don't Come Easy. The vocals in this album is all Mamamoo so adlibs is done by the members. So, you can't hear any voice of any artist here except in Mumumumuch which they used Cosmic Girl's niece on the child voice somewhere in the middle.

Ngl, I fell asleep while waiting lol I've been awake since the actual release. But it's nice to actually not be early and see what people have said in the comments and honestly..love this community we have here in your channel. Album listens with you are always the best cause sir,you have a good ear! You always hear + appreciate even the tiniest layer of sound that most other people don't. What can I even say about this album? It's just a big Mamamoo flex at this point. The whole album is an EXPERIENCE. I can't even count how many times I got emotional on my first listen, which reminded me of why I love music so much. Adulting has made me somehow into an emotionless "robot" but I love how music just makes me feel things and remind me that I am human.

Everything on this is awesome and I really like listening to it along with you. I think You're the Best was the biggest surprise. I never would have guessed you could mix Mamamoo with ZZ-Top. I am not really able to pick an overall favorite. Most improved would include Paint Me, Peppermint Chocolate and Gogobebe. Starry Night, You're the Best and Aya I like both this version and the original and I can't really pick which I prefer. Everything else this is definitely the best version.
