What about alternating row/column Smash- you start with a character in a row, then next round you gotta choose a character from the first character's column, then next round a character from that second character's row, and so on.
Here's how Hop's Dedede "cancelled" up+B into side+B. If you look closely, right before Hop hit Poppt's Dark Pit with the up+B spike, Poppt does an up+air and it traded, cancelling the up+B.

Not entirely sure how Rosas commonly setup to do it, but if you're jabbing with Luma and Rosa's in say endlag of something else, you can hold A and it'll keep Luma rapid jabbing while Rosa's fully moveable.
Rosa stuff always amazes me for no reason.

I wasnt confused at all like seemingly a lot of people lol. Seems pretty straightforward. Pick characters in your row, and with the decreasing roster cause of smashdown your row would change.

I think I got it by the end, it was basically like they got to pick a row and then they'd unlock more characters as the roster decreased because more characters would spill into their row
