Oh my God, thank you for reminding me of this old creepy pasta.I would listen to so long ago.It was actually this kid was talking to the monster under his bed.And the monster said I'm not your monster.I'm his monster as up.There was a guy ran to like killed his kid so as he jumped out.The monster attacked him and basically chased him through a window

Terrifying creatures from the darkest corners of human imagination turning out to be good/friendly - is my favourite concept
Imagine the hat man is just a friendly guy, with the goofiest voice possible
The scarlet king ends up being a middle aged dad who's obsessed with dad jokes when you get to know him
As it may be one of my favorite concepts, it'd probably get backlashed in the distant future where people would complain why "Ugly" monsters are scary and not wholesome
But really, i really love those tropes as a concept, i am currently working on a story where it's a manmade post apocalyptic hell where the main character who seems to be an evil looking wendigo and turns out he's really goofy and is just very shy towards others since wendigos are isolative type of creatures. He is a wanderer who has a knack of just wanting to be friends with folks, he has other friends are just other mutant demons who aren't inherently "evil" but tend just to be funny Jackasses who love to toy with people like a bunch of prankcallers.

I think the “she is still your wife” in the description and the pictures in the room when she’s seen out the door means that the creature was a human before. The character’s wife, but was somehow turned into that. Anyway this is super wholesome

this is likely based off of the japanese folk creature called a rokurokubi that is a woman at day, however at night her neck elongates to huge lengths where their head moves around to eat small creatures or drink gas from lanterns. they aren’t really evil, it’s just that this is how they were born
