Kane Cornes is beyond delusional. His boys have injuries and lose, so it's a good effort.
If any other club has the same amount of injuries, or more (ie. West Coast) and they lose, he calls for coaches to be sacked and CEO's to resign.
Injuries is a good excuse for his old team Port, but it is not excuse for anyone else.
He is a clown.
Tbf to him, he made those calls about WCE 2+ years ago.

West coast have kept injury prone players on their list for half a decade when they barely play 1 game a season. If you're only resigning injured players that don't play then you can expect criticism.
I'm an Eagles member and everything Cornes says about my club is spot on. However, he is still very biased about Port Adelaide.

Nobody who loved the team would make the kind of excuses he does for non-performance.
The only bias I saw in the game came from the umpires.

The point is that he's not allowed that point to be made or for injuries to be used as an excuse for any other side this season. So now when he tries to make that case for his team, he's lost any credibility he had.

Last week Kane Cornes did a whole segment on how Geelong have lost the hunger, now all of a sudden they''re the best team in the competition. He may have strong opinions but they change from week to week.

In all seriousness, I understand they were missing a ton of players who are very important to them, and I thought they were competitive, but I think we're beyond the point of giving Port Adelaide participation awards. This is the sort of stuff we do for North and West Coast

Let's see if Port can still afford their head of media and marketing after the fine. Everyone is missing good players at this end of the season. Ports biggest weakness is their depth and it's showing. The best teams find a way under duress

I have a theory why Port fans have never accepted Ken Hinkley from day one.
Look at your coaches so far:-
-John Cahill (coached Port Adelaide Magpies to flags. Port Adelaide legend).
-Mark Williams - Former Port Adelaide Magpies player and son of PA Legend, Fos Williams.
-Matthew Primus- Played for Port Power.
-Ken Hinkley - No association with Port Adelaide whatsoever before joining the club. Also he is Victorian (who South Australia hates).
So it isn't Ken who is the problem. Fact is, if Leigh Matthews or Kevin Sheedy had got the job, they would be hated too, because they aren't one of your own.
Port Adelaide is an incestuous club who refuse to embrace anyone from outside their bubble. That is why, even if he coached you to numerous flags, you would want him gone, because you are an insular club who aren't open to outside ideas.

I live in SA (not a port or crows fan) and can comfortably say a port home game showdown is one of the loudest atmospheres I'ver ever experieneced. If you really think Ken isn't trusted by power fans, you have clearly not paid any attention to port this past decade
@dhenderson1810 I was a Hinkley supporter, but this is his 11th season . With only 3 or 4 final wins . Yes in home and away games his percentage is good but finals are poor we are not in the EPL.
Funny how others say he is so good but if Hinkley name is ever mentioned going to their club no 1 wants him.

Cats went over to Port earlier this year with a depleted side. Had a good lead and then lost Danger, who was dominating & Bruhn with injury, which severely depleted our midfield which saw Port subsequently overrun us, no surprise in that situation. Danger & Bruhn much bigger losses than McKenzie during the game. So the results evened out.

Eh, I agree with him. I think it is somewhat overstated but I think the others were creating a bit of drama. It was a great team from two teams who are missing some big players, but I think any reasonable coach would be pretty happy with that performance from Port. A number of players who had pretty solid games against tough opponents were in the single digits in terms of games played.
Obviously it's not as impressive as the Eagles pushing Essendon or some amazing upset, but they could easily have been blown out of the water and ended up losing in a tight arm wrestle.

Surprised he didn’t mention the umps. As a Crows supporter I can’t stand the Port sc_m and enjoy seeing them lose, but the often biased umpiring in favour of Melbourne based teams undermines the integrity of the AFL competition. This is a game in point, where one of the umpires in particular went crazy in his support for Geelong.
Didn't hear him being that kind to the Swans when they had 11 of their best 22 out at once earlier in the year. Kane has only two settings, he's either spot on or he's a muppet.

I’m a Geelong supporter but thought Port were fantastic. Their midfield is elite. If they can get players back before finals and stay top four they could still win the flag.

With Kane on this one, yes they lost but to serve it up to the premiers like they did with how many outs they had was very surprising. I don't think anyone would have picked them to win that game but for it to only be a 12 point loss was a good effort.
He doesn't go through other teams and games and make excuses for the team that lost. Only Port. He doesn't list all the players Geelong are missing or mention that Fremantle beat them at home last week.
@@tb7667 no other team this year has had as many outs that Port had while versing the reigning premiers. It was basically a SANFL team vs premiership players. Freo had a full strength team so that comparison doesn’t hold up sorry.

Port Adelaide has obviously had that attitude ingrained into their culture for at least the past 20 years. How many premierships have they won since then? None since 2004.
He is a peanut. And his "take" here is exactly what is wrong with the media in AFL. Too many of the current crop of media can't make a proper split between the club they played for and their job in the media. That whole panel is guilty of it at times. It just strips away any sense of credibility.
Sam Newman is certainly someone who had plenty of problematic opinions in his media career, but he never backed down from giving it to Geelong when they weren't performing up to scratch. That's what a footy journalist should do. Not give useless pieces of commentary like this. Yes Port had a heap out, but they were also sitting second and saying they were after top spot a month ago.

Should have hurt Cats where they are vulnerable and run Cats off their feet all over the ground with a much better midfield than Cats. Cats miss Guthrie horribly and rely too much on veteran Dangerfield for their midfield. He is absolutely biased to try to be sympathetic to his old side that he has shown far less sympathy to a number of other clubs when they missing. If Carlton had lost to Saints with all the players Carlton are missing there no way his narrative would be to try to count it as a win if they lost narrowly.

Ive been trying to tell people kane is very bias and this just shows how delusional he is we all know port have injuries as to most sides port have lost 4 games in the past 4 matches when the top 2 is on the line and kane says treat this loss as a win please its a gutsy loss but in no way can you consider it a win at the end of the day they will now find it difficult to finnish top 2 melbourne are playing good footy and brisbane have a better percentage than port so they might have just blown there top 2 and home finals chanes.
