Amped Up, Mario Kart 64 Mod, Balloon Mode

This is an excellent Mario Kart 64 mod with lots of options, and three exclusive race modes, along with the original modes. There is also a new jumping mechanic that gives you a boost when you land off ramps. The levels are lore friendly and it feels like an official game. The music is great, and it is an all around great game. In this video I am racing Star Cup, 150cc, on the new Balloon Mode.

Turning into a bomb kart was a fear to me as a kid... But I love how this hack makes it for a Grand Prix Battle.
Honestly this is SO fun bringing the nightmare of mine to life.

woah! This looks like a really cool mod... interesting how they used the Mario Golf menu music sped up. I wish I had this as a cartridge.

@@MattC78 No problem! Never played this hack, but it does look amazing! I'm assuming the sound glitched out because the hack didn't expect you to crash immediately after becoming a bomb.

So, it's basically F-Zero and Star Wars Racers: Revenge but it's Mario Kart. It looks like fun, it could be difficult or challenging though.

Yes, it would be good if people were eliminated, why not, but I don't think that the game's consumers would like it.

There is a rom download link in the description and once I got the rom, I tried to emulate it on a phone using an n64 emulator and it didn't work. I tried some other n64 emulators and it still didn't work. What emulator can I use to play the rom?

You will need to use a bps patcher program and apply the .bps file on a "Mario Kart 64 (U) [!].z64" ROM.
You can use the Web-based N64 ROM byteswapper to convert a Mario Kart 64 (U).n64 rom file into .z64.
Use that new file to play the modded game. I hope this helps. It's easy once you figure it out. Most all rom hacks will need this done before you can play them. Make sure you have the (U) version of Mario Kart 64 or it will not work. It should work on any emulator on PC or Mobile once you have converted the file.
