"Flow" - a Project M 'Marth' Combo/Highlight Video

- I decided to throw together a combo video with my plethora of Marth clips. I was a full Marth main before switching to Falcon in Project M, so I thought it deserved some homage. I might make a Falcon combo video sometime in the near future as well! Stay tuned. Thanks for watching!

You're probably aware already, but this vid got featured on Shoryuken. And it deserves to cus it's really good! I thought it was odd though because I was under the impression SRK wanted to have this game completely out of the spotlight, like the rest of the eSports community. Which makes me sad, because PM is the best.

I'm not a great PM player so I stick to simple mains like gannon, mario, marth luigi etc. but marth just is really rewarding and this kinda helps my game sense a bit so great content

yo dude such a fan of your content. it's always so killer, including this one. I have a question though, how did you go about getting that intro of marth? I'm working on a video for the PNW and I just love the intro you have of marth. I'm curious if you did the recording of him taunting yourself and worked some magic or if this is a pre green screened marth taunting. Anyways would love a reply!
I used the PM debug menu to change the camera view to an angle where the background is a solid black colour for colour-key convenience. I left the camera angle and recorded the taunt, and then keyed out the solid black colour. So in short, yes, I did use the method you referred to. :) I'm glad you enjoyed my content. I recommend you get Adobe After Effects and learn how to rotoscope! It's a much more efficient and rewarding way of cutting out elements in a video without the background, and there's a lot more you can do with that as opposed to green-screening. I have yet to get on that myself, actually.
oh i have never green screened in my life i was just curious if that was the way you did it. So say i don't get After Effects, could this still be done in sony vegas 11? I'm somewhat proficient with SV11 but if you would completely recommend AE and rotoscoping (whatever that exactly is lol) i would take your advice! and yeah dude always been a fan lowkey of your work. beautiful editing, along with great song choice can make a video SO much more brilliant and you by far stand out from the rest in terms of that. also i dont even gotta mention da clipz tho.

Yes, green-screening is definitely the easier method and doesn't take as much time. Find a stage that gives you a nice solid colour in the background, fiddle around with the camera so the character doesn't go out of the desired boundary (the solid colour, in this case) and record what you need. Bring it into Sony Vegas and use the colour-key effect, change the colour by using the eye-dropper tool and clicking on the solid background to sample that exact colour. After that, you should have the background completely removed, and if any of it is pixelated or if there are random background elements that you'd like to remove, you'd have to fiddle around with the colour-key settings a little bit until you find the perfect level that removes the background as you desire. Keep in mind that using colour-key might rip something off of the character if it's the same colour as the background, so I recommend using a character colour that directly contrasts the background which would make it a lot easier when colour-keying.

not sure if youll have time to answer this Aᴢᴜʀɪɴ but what was it like switching to falcon from marth? i hear people say that both are very fundamentally based characters but i feel that they sit on almost opposite sides of the spectrum of fundamentalism (i hope thats a word). As a roy main myself ive tried playing characters like falcon or diddy (who i also feel has a similar momentum heavy style to falcon) and they just dont feel intuitive to me after having played roy for so long. something about the sword characters and how theyre attacks work just feels too different in the way one approaches a situation. Did you have the same issues?
I treat every character as a separate individual character and try not to draw comparisons. Every character has their own tool-set, and in the end, how each individual character plays out will be vastly different from the others. It all comes down to time put into a character, and your ability to understand how to improve in neutral and maximize your efficiency with the character. Try not to draw similarities, because then you'll trick yourself into thinking you can play the same with two different characters and get the same results. If you're looking to pick up another character, you're better off starting from scratch and forming a safe and efficient play-style that better suits that character.
tl;dr - I didn't really run into any issues, I just practiced them both often and improved on myself neutral-wise. I can't say that there are any notable similarities between how I play the two.
word thats a good way to go about it. i guess the way that i think about neutral is a bit auto-pilot even if im, at least, trying not to play mindlessly. i never really learned how to truly think about neutral differently based on the character's perspective.

well ive cried myself to sleep multiple times and have developed very severe depression from his combos. when he spikes you into the abyss and nothingness in pm it makes you look at yourself and realize how you and the bottomless pit are really in common. you are both emty and have no true meaning, but for some reason you are still there.
you combo your friends like this too much and they stop being your friends
