I agree with not paying for fancy brushes, I’m doing fine with default and some free brushes I got, and some that I made myself. you really don’t need special paid brushes, the defaults and free ones do fine when you know how to use them.
i really don’t understand people who use those "fancy" brushes there are people who use braid brushes and grass brushes and it’s like THAT DOSENT EVEN MATCH YOUR STYLE?!? but paying for any brush makes no sense to me
@@wild.berryz I guess it’s to pay back the artist that spent the time to make them, but yeah… I would never spend money on a regular inking pen. Braid brushes are so tacky and one-dimensional, it’s really better to just use them as a layout and draw on top of in my opinion. Grass brushes are nice to have, but I think a lot of amateur artists just don’t know how to interpret it into their style so it looks so weird
Only problem is when the app you use makes it difficult to customize the brushes, i find myself using brushes that dont really work for things like hair just because the shape it makes is perfect
oh yes! if you have the funds that's a great way to support artists! I have bought brush packs myself, I just wanted to give options to young artists who don't have the money for them. ^^
Drawing art for the sponsor is actually very smart instead of just talking over a screen scrolling through a site or just showing game play and stuff like that, I like that :)
Honestly I like this. I've never really seen the need to pay for brushes when I can just make my own or edit default ones to my liking. Also, congrats on thr honkai sponsor! That's so cool! It's one of my favorite games so its a pleasant surprise
I think variety of brushes is really wonderful! It’s a great way to support artists if you can, but it’s also a nice little luxury. Overall, it’s skill that impacts your art the most, but sometimes a certain brush could make or break a stylistic choice, too. I love these videos too!! I’d love to see you make a set of brushes for procreate at some point :0
Personal experiences keep me from buying various paid csp brushes for these very reasons !! Sane for sai brushes. They always turn out to be just the bare minimum
I downloaded these just to see what they were like a while back, and now the whisper pencil and soft serve blender are the best way to soft shade for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH LAVENDERTOWNE!
Loved the video, the brushes look really cool! If csp keeps on deleting your pack, it's probably because you're using one of their textures in your brushes. It happened to me before, and they don't tell you what the problem is unless you contact them.
As someone who would doodle in class with a dark blue gel pen…that brush you used to sketch looks really real! The way it gets darker when builded up looks so good!
Bro I thought the brushes could be used on all drawing programs so when I downloaded them on my iPad to use for procreate i-🤚🏾😭 These are really cool tho! I love the blender you made
Lavender, I just have to say, you've been a HUGE role model throughout my life! you're one of the reasons i became a young artists, and I just wanna say thank you for posting so much cool advice and helping me find my passion!
For the haching brush, have you tried to male 5 dots in a diagonal line? Going vertical and horizontal should work just fine, as will on of the diagonal direction, though one direction wouldn't work. Maybe a dotted x would be best? Either way you want dots (or very short lines) above whole lines.
I LOVE THIS! But, I personally like using Procreate for my art and I was wondering what brushes do you use? Because honestly I can never find the right brush to use-😂😂
@@derangedclownie There's one called 6B Pencil in the "sketching" section that's my go-to for making my sketches, but Procreate Pencil in the same section is crunchier, I think
I quite like the Jingsketch basics pack, it’s 11 free brushes, and the flat square brush is delightful imo (sort of has the vibe of her more painterly soft colouring, I use it for doodles and colouring and have started using it for inking too haha) There are lots of free procreate brush packs I’ve been meaning to try!
@@derangedclownie I’d say “soft chalk” and “thin ink” from the free brush pack I just mentioned (the Jingsketch basics pack) are both pretty similar? Not exactly the same shape, but on full opacity they have the same crunch imo
GAH I cant wait to see your in New York! Book signings are always fun and I have a copy waiting for me for when the book signing happens! The small info on the pre-order reminded me of it :3
I actually just saw this pack while looking for new brushes to play around with, only to come into CZcams to listen to music and find this video! I think I may try these brushes out, the texture is so yummy!
Thank you SO MUCH for this omgg, your inking style is one of my favourites ever and I’ve wanted to find a brush that looks like the ones you use for years but none of them ever seem to work right for me. I’m so excited to try these!!!!!
for the sai blending tool use the paint and apply brush and take all the paint out (amount of paint, density of paint), color stretch to 50 and hardness to 100
If CSP keeps deleting the brush pack, it's probably because you either entered it into the wrong category or you didn't give a proper description on what the brushes are for. Hope this helps ^^
Also I'm just impressed by how you make me want to watch the whole video an octillion times over, it's just that good (makes me wanna just exclaim ar ar ar ar ar ar ar in awe)
There are only two brush packs I'd ever pay for. One is Jazza's brush pack - great value per brush, works beautifully and you can buy a digital painting guide with it. Plus, supporting a fellow artist! The other one is this one very specific watercolor brush pack for Procreate. I haven't seen any other brushes, free or paid, that can do what it does.
I know this won't be seen but you really really changed my life as a artist, I was unmotivated and was never able to get up and draw, my art style was bad and had nothing interesting about it. So I started watching your videos all the time. my art style started looking like yours, then I took a break from watching and just somehow I became extremely good, drawing better then anyone would think a nine year old like me would make. I just want to say thank you so much for this. You also helped me on my way, some of your videos helped me find out a better way to draw things, So thanks so much 😊
Honestly, all custom made brush packs should be free. Fidgeting around a bit with brush settings and/or textures doesn't mean you should sell it for 15-20$ :/. It feels so scummy, and the "special, super spectacular" brushes that are listed for sale can be made under a min or so by adjusting some simple brush settings.
I haven’t started digital art yet but I plan to buy a tablet and use Krita as my art platform, I hope these brushes will work in other art platforms because these are the types of brushes I’d love to us while I start learning digital art 😊
