    Dude you are literally building what will become THE default, go to resource for whatever it is you're covering in any given video. Every single video is pure gold. I'm tempted to come over all the way from Brisbane, Australia just so I can join your classes for a few weeks. I feel like I would learn more in a few weeks at your studio than I have in years elsewhere.

      You're a real sweetie pie, my friend.
      I gotta say, I wouldn't mind an excuse to visit Australia if you think of one!

      fre fri I know right, it’s literally becoming the BLUEPRINT of Casino. And to think I had to go to the mother land, Cuba 🇨🇺 herself to learn from the original teachers but I can literally take a trip in my own backyard to Greensboro and learn from this awesome loving light being! ✨💃🏾💯💜🦋

    Love this; the diagram helps me organize things in my brain/body. Leave it to an engineer! Wish I’d been studying with you when I wrote the book, it would have included references to salsa!

    Your videos are the best casino videos I've seen on the internet! I'm so glad I came across them. Thank you so much for such clear, thoughtful instruction. Quality videos!

    Danced (mainly slot) salsa for nearly four years and had no idea about how casino movements work. No one ever explained the pivoting action and no on ever explained how to get the "circularity" of movement. I think with your videos I'm well on my way. Thank you!!!!!

    Sir, I've been following your series and find it very informative. I love Rueda de Casino! Believe it or not we have a small community here on the Big Island of Hawaii. We also have a big community that participates in in other Latin Dances. I would love to host you for some beginner workshops around the island. Lmk if that is something you would consider. Mahalo and Ahui ho!

    There's a DC Casineros feel to this (no?)

    The only question is why is she stepping back in Dile que No. She should be stepping forward. It’s not Son dancing.

    • @MessinaDance
      @MessinaDance  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I do not enjoy the aesthetic of mandatory forward marching because it looks like people learned to dance at gunpoint.
      She's a native Cuban dancer, and there are many ways people dance casino, which is important to acknowledge and show.

      @@MessinaDance I get that. And I was wondering if she was Cuban since she has the dynamics. But in Cuba, women do NOT step backwards since they would be a step behind when the man turns. She would be like in the middle and the man has to make bigger steps. It’s not bc “at gunpoint.” It has an explanation for all the turns that Casina has. That way of dancing, like stepping backwards, is taught in Miami by ppl who doesn’t know otherwise. Thank you for your reply and I’m not criticizing you.
      Another thing to consider, when one of your male students goes to Cuba to dance there, he will be a bit lost since he will be expecting women to step backwards, and they won’t since it’s not customary in Cuba.

    • @MessinaDance

      What do I get if I can find native Cubans who step back on dile que no?

    • @Renku07
      @Renku07 Před 4 měsíci

      @@MessinaDanceStepping back comes from before the Revolution in Cuba bc classic Son dancing steps back; however, after the 70s, stepping forward became popular bc more turns and hand knots were added and women had an extra step by stepping forward. Also, you can find many more Cuban women who step forward. In my opinion, it even looks better and the dance looks more spread. Also, those accustomed to seeing a woman stepping back will get confused when they encounter a woman who steps forward. I know that from experience in Miami.
      As to your question, it should not be hard to find one who steps forward. If you find one, you will have to deal with that and get accustomed. At the beginning, it's gonna be confusing but you'll eventually will get it. You'll see it's even better due to that extra step. The woman won't be in your way.
