This is a review of Stihl's FS 240 R two stroke trimmer. This trimmer is so advanced with the latest technology and advancements, it is not even funny. It will be your pleasure to own one and use one! Yet, there is one major problem with this unit.

My 240r lives in my loungeroom, along with the 94r, bg86, ms231. I need a shed. You convinced me a couple of years ago, still loving it
I have a FS250r still screaming after 22 years. It did end up with fresh top end after some confusion that ended up with me replacing it with a FS240r a few years ago, then I got a call the 250 was fixed. I still like the 250 overall for raw, violent power and lower weight, but the 240 is right there and a bit more… refined.
Love them both.
The 250 is also my all time favorite; Raw power baby, awesome unit. Never get rid of it! Thanks for watching and have a great week!
I just bought one about a week ago and I love it I’m 6’7 so the longer shaft definitely helps super comfortable to use and has insane power if anybody’s thinking about buying one just know it’s better than all of the four mix weed eaters and it’s better than all the Echo weedeaters I’ve used them all trust me the 240 is the way to go

The 240 R is totally awesome.
I bought mine 15 months ago, cut through hectares of Bush like is is melted butter.
What cutting head and line diameter do you use? I have 2 FS240R's and i use the Auto Cut 36-2 with a .130 line and it cuts through just about anything. I've cut through clumps of grass, poison oak and even through barbed wire (by accident, of course). Stihl in their infinite wisdom has stopped producing the 36-2 and as far as i can tell they have no replacement cutting line that will accept .130 line. Running anything less is like putting a 1960's VW Bug engine in a Ferrari. Way to go Stihl. ECHO SRM-410X here i come.
Love the reviews! You make me feel like a grass cutting warrior. I own 4 Stihl, 1 Honda, and 1 Milwaukee line trimmers so you could say I’m well prepared for battle.

I’ve had mine for 5 years, it’s been awesome. Just have to remove the spark arrester once in awhile and use a propane torch to burn of the gunk built up.
Just bought one. Didn't have much choice, though. My local retailer had this model and the small electric model. It'll be like swatting flies with a sledgehammer and...and I'm okay with that.👍
Had to upgrade from a 131R to this, I love it. Also love my 131 R but the 240 its a man machine.

For a couple bucks more, the Echo SRM 410U comes with a 47.5 cc motor, steel guard, made in Japan and a 5 year warranty. If STIHL is so great, why do they offer a 1 year warranty?
Because if theirs no problem in the first 6 months, their never will be !!!!!

Let’s find a 5 acre field and I’ll get on one side and you get on the other side, we will meet in the middle after 2 days. You’ll need 5 gallons of water and some power bars. Bright a strong flashlight with lots of batteries because it better to cut at night because it is cooler. Yeah baby. Peace out my new friend.

Fs240r vs Fs250r which one have more power and torque in real world? I know fs240r have more fuel capacity and alittle more hp on spec/paper.

The only thing i dont like about my 240 is the trigger needs to be longer again like they used to be, i get sick of using the same finger for hours
