Most RWB cars sell within the group via their private chat, so when one comes up publicly it usually means nobody in the group wanted it and/or didn't have friends/family who passed on it. That being said this car has 2 accidents(1 reported and 1 non reported), paint issues, partially gutted interior and air ride which all hurt its value in my view. Two RWB cars were on BaT, with a blue 964 selling for $132k and 997 failed to sell at just under $67K and had no bids with 4 days to go. Noting the 997 wasnt built by Nakai and PDK, which hurt it seriously. The issue I see is that now is that the PCM high bid sets the value of the car. I was offered a RWB that failed to sell on an auction site and he wants $70k more than that high bid which is delirious. These cars are built to taste and budget. There are some amazing standout cars with built motors (Silver 993 in CT) or turbo setups (blue 964 in CT as well) but most are high mile cars or have accident history/title brands. As for the owner of the car, he doesnt drive it and its sat for years for the most part. Nearly $200k is very agressive for that car

@@bidnerds Well as one of your hosts pointed out. You probably hold the car hoping for $200k or more. The problem is the no sale on the Reb cab isnt good for value, nor is this car not selling or the 997 as a no sale. The blue BaT car at $132k isnt a good sign. My understanding is the owner rarely uses the car and has other toys in the garage. If it he has to hold its not a concern from what I gather. The reality is current owners and those waiting to build theirs dont want to see those numbers as it hurts them in the short term.

@@bidnerds That is correct. However with such limited number of public sales its all the fruit we got :) Its worth noting the 997 was not a Nakai built car which definitely impacted the sale. That same seller sold the 964 on BaT and has a 993 for $200k for sale on his website. Both built by Nakai and seemingly all were built to flip. That doesnt seem to be panning out for the dealer however.

Alot of RWB haters here. Personally i dont understand why you would spend all that money getting nakai san and to modify a 964 Carrera 4 that's completely stock? Honestly, im a fan of his work, but this car to me isn't even worth $140K, in my opinion. If it was a turbo, it would be a COMPLETELY different story. The guy should have taken the offer.😅

RWB used to be cool. Nowadays they're cringe because pretty much every single RWB build documentation looks exactly the same, and all these 911s ended up being useless on track AND on the road. There will be 4 RWB builds happening in Indonesia next week, one of them is an extra-wide 997 Turbo build. I swear to God I'm gonna hate it, 997 Turbo is not small but they're not too big for the road. With that fender stretching for 5 postcodes? Yeah it's useless.

RWB wasn't cool then, RWB isn't cool now. When I was criticizing the design when these appeared in the scene, everyone was sharpening their pitchforks at me. But seriously, this aesthetic only serves minds of 12-year olds, which is the median mental age of RWB audience. When Akira Nakai-san cuts through fenders, cuts through body panels and refuses even to anti-corrosion them, putting only shallow strip of the hermetic through the push tube it is peak cringe and hubris. Eff Nakai-san and his way of ruining the Porsche legacy.

People from all over the world wanted the modified porsche's from Japan that looked completely different from everywhere else in the world and we're willing to pay crazy money for them. I'm not going to argue that it's not everyone's taste and that everyone should like what he does. The way he builds these cars is no different to how he builds them in Japan. It's like the Hotrod culture in America for example They take a car, hack it up and make it their own creation. It's the exact same thing that Nakai san does with porsche's. 😅

Completely different caliber of cars and budgets. RWB is more about the Japanese tuning/modified culture of the porsche scene in japan, and Singer is more of a Homage and celebration of porsche by creating the car completely from scratch with the best and luxurious parts and materials you can find.

@@bidnerds thats better but building a 964 for power is very expensive and even more when they go wrong. Brake and suspension upgrades have to be made to match power. Plus you better be on your toes with a high power 964. They are not forgiving. If your not on the track and just want style widebody 911s are hard to beat.
