    Nothing says adding congestion like a bridge that has never fully reached its desired capacity, nevertheless the alienation of anyone else needing to cross it outside of a motor vehicle

    those third lanes on either side should be made into bus only lanes

    $2,600.00+ for a one bedroom apartment, BUT the bridge will look pretty.

    Can't use the whole 8 lanes so using 2 lanes for pedestrians. That's not a face-lift that's a downgrade. Hopefully there's enough foot traffic to reason this decision.

      Correct waist of tax payers money not going to do much to help traffic

    2 lanes in each direction seems like oppression to drivers

    Downgrading its infrastructure I see. BC Already has a 3rd world country level roads and highways. Look at Ontario/Montreal. Dont even get me started with the US. Also, Chinese economy is booming and they are building more and more multi-lane freeways. I wonder why........

    Nice to see bike lanes, but where does it go? Can I get there by bike, or is the bike lane just on the bridge?

    3 lanes, no more, no less

    Another "brilliant" idea of the city's masterminds meant to choke even further the already congested downtown traffic. One more hurdle faced by the motorists, after the bicycle lanes and the reduced number of lanes for the cars. Why not closing all the lanes presently designated for automobiles, and have the Downtown accessible only by pedestrians and cyclists!!

      That’s actually an awesome idea. Ban cars from downtown!

    Granville Bridge should be a condo. I would do the upgrade for free if they gave me the bridge.

  • @rixx46

    Why not just tear it down and have us all swim? Bike lanes and nonsense like this remain a delusional notion that costs a fortune and only causes MORE CONGESTION.

    • @adanactnomew7085

      Bikes are smaller, they take up less space, so you need less space to move the same number of people. This means less traffic. Also, bike lanes are cheaper than roads, especially because bikes barely cause any wear on the roads, unlike vehicles which require the roads to constantly be repaved.

    • @rixx46
      @rixx46 Před rokem

      @@adanactnomew7085 this is the exact clown car absurd argument that proves how bad an idea bike lanes are - they are short-term pie in the sky thinking that EVERYONE WILL RIDE A BIKE! "If you take away all the roads, people will need to ride bikes! We just saved the world!" This fails to take into account the impracticality of bikes in bad weather, shopping, people too old or infirm to ride bikes - special needs people, the disabled... Bike lanes are good idea in some situations but to spend MILLIONS to create a problem instead of solving one is madness.

      More lanes cause more congestion. What's the point of 3 lanes becoming 4 only to then become 3 again? You're definitely in the "just one more lane bro" camp. Traffic is fixed by offering more transit options not more lanes.
