Hey everybody I have a correction for the video the info about the Bloody Bridge massacre is incorrect. I believed it was connected to the Excise men killing smugglers but it is related to a prisoner exchange. In 1641 there was an uprising started by Rory O'Moore (Irish Republican rebellion), the guys transporting the British prisoners, stopped and hacked them to bits. The British/Plantation prisoners were hacked to pieces and tossed over the bridge. There is a project called 1641 Depositions - Trinity College Dublin, that details the accounts.- Thanks to @footslogger_ni for the correction.

Love how you highlighted the landscape the whole way across. That'll really help people thinking of doing the Brandy Pad or the 4 peaks above it👍

Thanks Mark. Yeah the trail winds its way through so many mountains and past so many big names that you just have to call them out. It is such a straight forward route too and simple to walk. I love this trail. Glad you enjoyed it.

I picked last Friday to camp at Hare's Gap coming from Trassey car park. Kept walking about 30 mins along the Brandy Pad then doubled back to camp. The weather was unbelievable and I got to see the Northern Lights. It will be a day and night hard to beat😁

Alyn, a significant challenge and a stunning walk traversing the Brandy Pad and cool that those 4 peaks will be waiting for another day😊

Felt rubbish the whole walk Gerry. Really took the shine off it. But I managed the trail itself, so that was something.. You are right though the peaks will still be there for next time.

I had to bail from a walk in snowdonia for similar reasons, but I was less stoic than you ;-) I am amazed how you kept being so positive.....Love the Mournes and the Brandy Pad, such a wonderful mountain area! Thank you and I hope you feel better now!

Aw well, I was very quiet in between recording lol. Thats how Uel knew I wasn't feelin great. Im usually the chatty one on a hike. Ha ha ha. You really do just need to be sensible at times like that. Know your limits and sometimes stopping and turning back is the best thing to do.
Am feeling about 99% better, just a lingering stuffy nose

It's not a fail matey! Just one step towards completing it. Remember, if you don't doubt yourself at some stage along the way, you probably haven't set a goal challenging enough!
    Next time, my man.

Just letting you know, that's why Bloody Bridge is actually called Bloody Bridge. 🙂
For the record, it is our shared history. I take neither side. It is what it is. History must never repeat itself.

Thanks for the encouragement. It felt horrendous the whole way along. I needed a week in bed to recover. Just a flu thank goodness. Will definitely be back to do the planned route.
