  • Around 1 in 4 men with intermediate-risk prostate cancers opt for radiotherapy treatment, which has proven powerful in eliminating cancerous cells towards full remission. This webinar will bring together an expert and consumer panel to talk about existing and new treatments, including Focal Therapy, Brachytherapy, and MRI Linac.
The conversation will also include a look at what you need to know about choosing the right treatment for you and understanding any short or longer-term side-effects.
If you or a loved one has been impacted by prostate cancer and want to learn more about radiation therapy, this conversation is for you.
Call 1800 22 00 99 or go to www.pcfa.org.au/support/prostate-cancer-specialist-nurses/ for information and support.
A special thanks to our Vodcast panel: Matthew Britland (President of Australian Pharmaceutical Medical and Scientific Professionals Association), Dr Vincent Pow (Radiation Oncologist, Icon Cancer Centre), Kerry Santoro (PCSN) and Peter Aubourg (prostate cancer survivor).

As a man who initially, not knowing my Gleeson score, I was going to have surgery. When I discovered that my score was 3+4 I quickly researched that and promptly decided to do radiation. Thankyou to the members of the panel for all the information. Obviously Peter' treatment did not affect his ability to sit on the bicycle seat. lol

Thanks very informative. As the wife of a 78 year old with a Gleeson score of 5+5 and post ADT and 45 radiation treatments, we find that he is still having bowel issues. Currently being investigated by his GP. However, its always good to see advances in Prostate cancer treatment. Thank you.

Gleeson score 3+4. PSA 4.0 - currently doing HRD Brachytherapy at PeterMac, Melbourne. Thus far one of two down, feeling better than expected, however let's await the period after 2nd (and presumably final) treatment. My current concern is the monitoring after treatment, as it appears that my PSA score did not indicate "an issue", hence is it suitable as an indicator post treatment? On the top of my list of questions.! Anybody has an answer/suggestion?
